I doubt a 0.7 rating is good enough to get the NHL back on ESPN. With the ASG they had a chance to showcase the league, as well as its star players and it was a wasted opportunity the moment versus became the network to carry the game. I've continued to say this....it should've been on NBC over the weekend. Here is Kuklas article about the ratings. Keep reading and it will appear fine, until you get to the chart and get a reality check.

Pass. I wouldn't touch him with a 1000ft pole.

Horton brings energy, physical play and grit to the table, besides the obvious offensive skills. He's a team-leading +8 when they are -16 as a team. Horton may not be killing penalties at 21 or 22, but he definitely should be in a few more yrs. -

And in addition to what barnes said, They're all set in the middle with Jokinen and Weiss as their top 2 centers, So why would they even want another center? -
No thanks, Our defense is set. In fact, some even wanna subtract a d-man (lilja)

There's no way ottawa would trade them, unless you you make a deal they can't refuse. However, Chris Clark is a pretty good alternative, and if the caps fall out the playoff race, it'd be possible to get him. -

Whichever "Star Player(s)" Holland holland is targetting, they're not gonna come at a small price. Last year's move for Doug Weight. Basically, Rajamaki and Kahnberg are similar in terms of value, they cancel out each other. -
howard or filppula is the starting point
-
I still think we need a guy who's real good in his own zone (preferably a 1st line player who can pair up with kronwall), someone like a Cam Barker maybe. If we can get that type of player this draft, we should have not just a good defense, but a great defense down the road.

yep, he's out for 6-8 weeks with that injury
-
Then why is he still there??? Looks to me like u didn't mean to put his name there instead of someone else. BTW, you forgot about Sammy
-
^^^ you forgot about jason williams
-
It all but eliminates him from getting a contract next summer.

No reason for Mursak and Emmerton to skip the AHL and make the wings directly, if they can't get top 6 mins. 1 yr of AHL isn't gonna hurt their development, as we found out with filppula last year even though he was NHL ready.

Last Check he was in Finland's 2nd tier (12-13 in thru 22 games). Seems like he's experienced a resurgence after moving from sweden. The talent may not be the same compared to sweden, but when u play in finland, u better bring your hardhat cause its probably the most grittiest league in europe and from that standpoint it seems he hasn't gotten intimidated.
-
You don't know that. In fact, nobody will until he actually proves it. I wouldn't annoint him as a "2nd liner" just 15 games into a sophmore year. He should stay for at least 1 more year and possibly 2 before u can judge for sure what his upside could be.

Forsberg's addition would leave them with so many weapons that the United Nations would think of asking for sanctions against SJ.
-
Maybe, we can actually get him in like 6 yrs when he becomes a FA.

I think your ratings are wrong, you need to double check them. They never rated abdelkader so high, he's still a 6.0B right now. McGrath has also never been more than a 7.0C. They have archives from as long as 7-8 yrs ago so that you can track every players rating since then. (just as a clarification, are the ratings yours or HF's?)

Yeah, They should be tryin to get rid of forsberg, hatcher and rathje if they want to rebuild
-
They are looking for some younger players, especially goaltending. For us to get gagne, we'll probably need to start with Howard and include filpula or kronwall.

Abdelkader doubters are looking a little more foolish (I was one also). Some scout(X-Sharkie) from Mckeen's Scouting had a chance to take a look at him. He went on HF boards to give his impression, so here is the link.
