Babcock has said that Modano would be on the second PP unit. So we could have 2 scenarios Bertuzzi - Filppula - Franzen Modano - Kronwall or Bertuzzi - Modano - Franzen Kronwall - Eaves/Other My theory is Babcock goes with scenario 1 for more weapons and doesn't worry that Modano isn't a righty. I also don't think you would see Eaves on both PP and PK, and I think the Wings want him more on the PK.

http://capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=15 Signing Abdelkader would put them at 23 players, as well.
-
Yep. All about playing a full 60 minutes. More mental than anything.

Capgeek has $1,612,123 left for Abdelkader and buffer

Roster limit is 23. -
Look at Sportacular. I think it is the best general sports app out there. It has all the scores, schedules, stats, and news for all the major sports, including individual team related. It also can alert you to upcoming games and score changes.
-
Just downloaded it. Not much to it besides the normal stuff. First page has news, second has schedule, third stats, fourth standings, and the more has Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Player Playlists, Blog, Feedback, and Tell A Friend. You can get a lot of that from the normal sports apps on the iPhone. I would like it to add at least alerts and reminders for current scores and upcoming games, like Sportacular. Plus, some audio and video clips would be nice, besides the YouTube.

The coach has stated he wants to have a third line of Hudler - Modano - Cleary. These lines can change at any moment, though.
-
The only other number, besides 9, that Modano has worn in his career was 27, for a couple of All-star games. That is the best guess, so far.
-
Yes, he was drafted by them out of Michigan Tech, as a winger. He was a winger before college, played defense in college, and started as a winger in the pros. He ended up switching back to defense in Minnesota.

Yes, I know. I wanted to give everyone a reminder when the Wings' games were going to air.

Currently 2.5 million contract, with a 3 million cap hit. http://www.capgeek.com/players/display.php?id=1094

http://hockeyindependent.com/blog/igloodreams/20244/ Interesting post here. Although the numbers show a drop in the third period, I compared the total number of penalties called by period, in a statistical program, and there is no significant drop, until you get to OT. That is probably because of the amount of time available.
-
Refs called less penalties in third period last year

They are, and when you only count those, there is still no statistical difference. -

$0.6 million less cap hit according to Capgeek numbers.
-
I think it has to do with the fact that he is in Canada.
