Three of Four Officials for USA/Canada Game From Canada
CenterIce replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Wow. All I did was make a post about how in Olympics past they would try and get officials from other countries, to make things more neutral. It was not really intended as a whine or complaint. -

I posted this in the Grffins forum, a while back, but this game is live on NHL Network, if you have it. -
From what I have seen, they have been playing goalie rotation with their minor league goalies, for the backup spot. Auld gives them better depth.

I don't have Twitter either, but you can access the RSS feed of each account off of the accounts page, and put that in an RSS reader. You can't post, but you can see all the posts, without have to bounce around as much if you were trying to read each individual web page.

ESPN.com rumors section has Chicago lookling at possibly Vockun or Ellis. They were mentioning that Nashville probably wouldn't trade a goalie, until they got the other locked up to an extension.

It's his elbow.

Well, this situation is back on, again. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ted_to_ann.html

This is what happens when the TV networks rule the (sports) world. Especially with the NHL, NBC is dictating what goes on and where. NBC was the one who set-up the schedule for the finals, last year. They were the ones who chose Philadelphia over Washington in the Winter Classic, and they put USA versus Canada on a non HD channel.

Wow, that is a strange turn of events, especially when there was the whole talking/rumoring about the Wings playing at the Palace next year.

Halftime? -
Yes, it is live. The game starts about 7:40. That link listed in the thread looks a little suspect. I am going no where near it.

I think I may be mistaken. I thought that was an option, but as you state, it is not in the rule book. It might have been one of those rules they changed during the lockout, or I am just getting old.

You can decline the penalty shot and take a power play, already.

Played at Michigan but born in Windsor, I think. Edit: Looks like Toronto - http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1296 Wasn't Miller born in NJ, but grew up in Michigan? Edit: Okay. I must be thinking of Drew http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/2637 http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/3883

Franzen should be on Zetterberg's line. Then, they can put out a unit of 4 Wings plus Forsberg. More continuity that way.

I think they are not allowed to practice until a few days before the break ends. http://montreal.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CT...ub=MontrealHome

All right. If you were GM, who would you trade for whom?
