Looks like Carolina have also asked Whitney and Wallin to waive their no trade clauses, and they and Matt Cullen, Scott Walker, Stephane Yelle, Andrew Alberts, Aaron Ward and Manny Legace could be on the trade block. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=306922

That is exactly what the new rules were designed to do. -
Cleary has some good breakaway shots. So has Filppula. I think for the Wings, outside of Datsyuk and Bertuzzi, they are not really original on their shots. Especially, if you are dekeing, you have to sell it. You have to get the goalie moving. Why do you think Datsyuk has had Turco and others looking silly? He does something different, and he makes you think he is going one way and he goes another. He has taken slap shots, just to keep the goalie guessing.
-
No one can replace him. That is why he is an elite player. It will have to be more defense by committee for defensemen and forwards.
-
The funny thing about this thread is that if you took out the issue about complaining to the press and flipped the goalie positions, you would think this was a thread from the beginning of the season.
-
If you looked at Datsyuk's shootout goal against Chicago, speed isn't that big a deal. Knowing the goalies tendencies, getting the goalie moving, and actually getting a shot on net are the most important. Helm has shown on breakaways that he does have the speed, but he doesn't always have the shot.

I knew too. He took classes his last few years in the league. He was also a lawyer for the NHLPA, for a while.

A local memorabilia store had it for a day, during the lockout. I got to touch it and got a few pictures.

You have people who have season tickets, but don't go to every game. They probably are having a harder time selling their tickets. So, games they cannot attend their seats are empty. Corporations have sections that if they don't have a customer to entertain, their seats may be empty. Single game seats are hard to sell, because not everyone has the money to go to all the games they used to. Game time was changed. People may have something else going on. There are a lot of people busy on Sunday mornings.

I don't believe GPS can discern a matter of millimeters between a puck and a goal line.

Where is the source on this one? -
Today was a game I thought he actually should have had a couple of fights, with players getting run and Howard getting interfered with. But, nothing.
-
This is nothing new. They have played a lot of dump and chase for years, now. They have also have had problems in their defensive zone for at least three seasons, now. Outside of the Stanley Cup year, it has been a problem.
-
The last time they tried putting something in the puck was the Fox Trax system. They couldn't freeze the puck correctly because of it. This made the puck bounce all over the place. Any thing they place in the puck would have to handle the freezing.

This and add Williams, Holmstrom, and Kronwall. Most of our goal scores are the ones that have been getting injured, leaving the Wings with mostly 3rd and 4th liners. Their trade deadline acquisitions will be getting the injured players back.

Well, they do say it is just like being there.

Your welcome. Does everything have to have a Youtube video, now? It just happened, so it takes a little while for any video to be available.

I would like to go back and see where he was at, to know how well he could have made that call.
-
Did you read this some where. I don't see how the other ref could reverse the call. It is the ref you makes the call and Toronto in on the decision. By the way, these threads need to be merged. This is the third one of these.
-
Unless, your name is Tomas Holmstrom.
-
As I just posted in the other thread about this, I think the only thing that they could have called was when Howard had to reach in with his glove, but you can't tell where the puck is. Plus, the ref was right over the play. He must have been talked out of his call.
