I saw two jerseys in tonights game that could have been considered fouls. Some guy was wearing a "WRIF" jersey with the number 101 on the back. I also spotted a number 7 jersey, but I think it had the guys name on the back, not Lindsay.

Anybody catch that WRIF 101 jersey foul in the stands?

There was no one else left to go in off the active roster. Even if they put Meech at forward, someone would have been called up for the defense.

He was talking in the offseason about wanting to play for Toronto or the Rangers, so you might be right.

The game just ended.

Nashville announcers said it was Zetterberg? That is a bit of a size difference. I guess they are relying on numbers. I guess they thought 44 was 40.

From ESPN Insider: Atlanta Thrashers GM Don Waddell said earlier that he hasn't talked to any teams about trading Ilya Kovalchuk, and he appears to still be negotiating an extension. And now there's another Versus report out of Atlanta that a 9-to-10-year deal is close. It jives with the previous rumors of a lifetime max contract; the 26-year-old star appears to be demanding a little over $11 million a year, but if he doesn't get the deal done with the Thrashers, there are reportedly teams ready to offer trades. According to USA Today's Kevin Allen, "If the Thrashers can't get a deal done, I'm aware of at least two Western Conference contenders who will make a strong pitch." Allen adds that, last summer, several GMs said they'd be interested in a trade if the Thrashers can't work something out. Some thought the deal would be done by Thanksgiving, but at this point they are likely negotiating the terms of the deal, or finding ways to reduce the cap hit on the Thrashers. This might be important because Kovalchuk has made clear he wants to win, and it might be hard if he signs a deal that takes up $11 million of cap space. So, if there is a deal, expect it to be front-loaded and long-term. The KHL might also swoop in with a huge deal that tops the Thrashers' rumored 10-year pact worth $9 million a season.

Two A's are allowed in games, if there is a C. Any more, and they have to rotate.
-
Stuart has had more of a concussion history than Lilja. We don't want what happened to Lilja happening to Stuart.
-
Stuart is too quiet for the C. Any one hear Mickey make the comment that Stuart has said about 2 words since he got here. Yeah, Yzerman was quick but not as quiet as Stuart. I see Z getting the C. Datsyuk with an A, and Rafalski with the other A.

Unfortunately, with Bettman in control, the league will be getting bigger not smaller.

This issue hasn't been good for Edmonton. That is why Pronger left and Nylander never signed. Usually, this hasn't affected Detroit, but that is when everything was going good.

This has been posted in numerous threads, but there is not much that can be done. We cannot talk on any salary that we cannot get rid of, once the injured players come back. We are near the end of more call-ups. Meech could move up to forward, and Kindl could replace him on defense, but if it goes further than that, they would have to call up more from Grand Rapids.

He is talking about Curtis Granderson of the Detroit Tigers. My answer to your question is NO!

This is not exact, since I don't know exactly when Sawchuk got his last shutout. It was in his last year, where he only played eight games, so it is close. Sawchuk took approximately 971 games for 103 shutouts, while Broduer took 1025. Sawchuk had an average of 9.43 games/shutout, where Broduer's is 9.95. Pretty close. You could say Sawchuk had tougher competition, but you could also say the longer seasons could have worn on Broduer more, with less time to re-cooperate. I say it is a wash.
