Well, they have always said that Helm and Abdelkader were the 2.0 version of Draper and Maltby. Now, Helm and Abdelkader are getting regular playing time. Hopefully, whenever Maltby and Draper decide to hang them up, they go out on top.
-
Maltby is in a contract year, but I believe Draper has a year left, after this one. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/cap-central/team.php?team=DET

Maybe a Lebda or Meech for Brunnstrom trade? ESPN Insider:

Jason Williams does this a lot. If I can remember I can post it later, but I believe it was posted a while back, if you do a search. It is one thing for a 9 year old to do it, or Jason Williams to do it in practice, but to do it in a game (for 2 points), you better not screw up, or you will hear it from the coach.

Cherry has been saying this for a while. He never thought the guy should be sent down.

I don't remember this. Are you sure? I don't see them having McCrimmon running the forwards. To the overall topic, you also have to consider the loss of McLellan, since he handled the forwards and defense is a team concept. You have to have your forwards back checking and there can't be too much space between the forwards and defense. That coaching staff just worked. I knew it would not be good when McLellan went to San Jose.

Unfortunately, this is nothing new with the Wings. We have seen this many times before. They sometimes try to rely on talent, rather than hard work. Then, they get out worked by a more hustling team. Part of this can be traced back to injuries (Zetterberg, Bertuzzi, Cleary, Franzen, Helm). Their regular complete line-up has not really been in there, but they have to outwork the other team every game for the entire game.
-
This might go with what I was going to post. Coming into tonight, the Wings have given up 3 goals each in the 1st and 3rd periods. They had given up 7 in the 2nd. As of now, that is 4 goals in the first and 11 in the 2nd. Long change, and on the road, you are trying to get your match-ups, since you don't have last change.

I thought he looked pretty good out there with the Euro Twins.

ESPN Insider: All the Insider ever does is re-post what local newspapers speculate. Nothing really insider. The bolding is from me. Everything is all speculation based on a few minutes of Howard's one and only game this season.

He didn't really care about the protection part. He wanted to be able to get all the torque he could into his shots.

Yeah, mine were in Section 330. What a mess? I don't know how many tickets they sold, or what the cost difference is, but I wonder why they can't leave the ice where it was going to be and move everyone in closer. It must be easier to just block off half the stadium. http://www.uscho.com/news/college-hockey/i...FrozenFour.html

Wow, this is horrible planning. What made them decide to do this? Did they not sell enough seats? From what you are saying, the are cutting down to half the arena. I hope I will be able to see from my seats.

He does have friends in the league office. He used to work there.

Check your local listings.

Shanahan has cleared waivers. Ball is in NJ's court, now.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4540748 I guess the matter is closed. The Leafs were fined for Wilson's comment, but regarding Burke's quotes, the league feels there is no issue.
