I believe he does have the record.

That is because they had no real playoff experience. There are plenty of examples of teams that have gotten to the finals, without a lot of prior experience, but they pretty much always lose. You need to keep a team together over a 2 or more year period, getting deeper into the playoffs, to really win the Stanley Cup.

Wrong. Sportsmanship is a must. The best way to win is the right way to win.

The award is not voted on by the fans. Frank J. Selke Trophy The Frank J. Selke Trophy is an annual award given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game. The winner is selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association at the end of the regular season. http://www.nhl.com/trophies/selke.html

Actually, Spezza just said that Heatley just has to do what is right for him, and if that means he wants out of Ottawa, they should trade him. He didn't say get rid of him.

If it is related to the Hall of Fame ceremony your two options would be Nov. 5 against the Sharks or Nov. 12 against the Canucks (closet home games). The Sharks I would assume would be a bigger draw, which would suggest that the game against the Canucks could be the one. It could be based on Yzerman's schedule, as well.

I agree with everything, except the Hasek part.

Not going to happen. Versus is a national network contract. Whatever exclusive games they have will and cannot be picked up by any other network. On another note, Comcast owns Versus, so may be they kept driving the price up to stick it to DirecTV, a little.

Stuart has had concussion problems, so he probably doesn't want to end up like how Lilja is now.

There is a possibility that he signed so cheap for the Rangers because John Tortorella was his coach with Tampa Bay. He knows what will be expected of him.

I don't know where I heard it, but I think it sums it up best: Hockeytown is a state of mind. Where ever you are, if you are a fan of the Red Wings, you are in Hockeytown.

Basically, what I was thinking, except some of the wingers on your lines are on the wrong sides.

Catching Toronto is in the realm of possibility. Montreal, on the other hand, would take a while. I am willing to try, though.

One thing everyone has to keep in mind is that the Wings are not going to use up all the current cap space they have signing another forward. They will want to keep some in reserve for injuries and trades. You can't go in to the season with no cap space, because you have no flexibility.
-
Who would want to trade for a guy who no one is sure if they are even going to be able to play, again.
-
The other thing that has to be considered is that you have to leave a little bit of cap space available for injury and trade situations. You have to have a little flexibility there.
