    Ciccarelli/Bowman Feud?

These guys are running into the issue of only have 4 entries per year. They should expand this. Like this coming year, you have Yzerman, Hull, Robitaille, and others ready to come in.

Ex-Pens who eventually played for Detroit

Johnson went the other way. I believe he was part of the Sandstrom trade. I don't think Pushor played for Pittsburgh. Edit: I was wrong Pushor played for Pittsburgh after Columbus, but either way, these two played for Detroit first, while the original poster was saying who played for Pittsburgh, then came to Detroit.

    Ciccarelli/Bowman Feud?

Publicly, the reasons for the trading of Ciccarelli was that Bowman didn't like the penalties he took and the timing of them. He was basically going in by himself. Bowman's idea of retaliation was to score on the resulting power play. Ciccarelli had other ideas. I have no idea if there was more privately.

Question About the Days Off in this Series

As some have stated, it is all based on NBC's programming schedule. There was an ESPN article that mentioned this. NBC is switching hosts on the Tonight Show, and I guess it is Sweeps Week, so they have to "squeeze" the NHL in some where. This is what happens when TV dictates your schedule. Regarding the chance that Versus could carry the Cup presentation, the NHL, in previous years, had Versus for the first two, then NBC. However, they wanted a larger national draw to start the series, so they have NBC for the first two, Versus the next two, and NBC the rest. Also, they want their weekend games for more money.

Who's acting captain while Lids is out?

Normally, when the captain is out, the Wings go with 3 A's. They have only gone with 2 the last 2 games.

Who's acting captain while Lids is out?

As far as I can tell, they are going with just two A's: Zetterberg and Chelios.

    Babcock to coach Canadiens?

Speaking of rumors and Wings' coaches. ESPN has in their insider section that Paul MacLean could be up for the Minnesota job, among others.

Game 1 & 2 of finals back to back

They are now looking for a possible May 30 and 31 for games 1 & 2. NBC's programming schedule is unfortunately running this. You would think if you signed a contract to cover the games, they would know they would have to be flexible. They are worried about Conan and sweeps. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2009/news?id=4203658

    Eager automatic suspension

Well, I admit that I am wrong. I do find it funny that Avery was the one to pull it off.
  15. CenterIce

    Eager automatic suspension

Okay. I am sort of seeing where you are going here, but I still believe out of everything you would still get one game misconduct. You would be thrown out of that game. The league could come in later and suspend you for more, but you can only get the one game misconduct per game.
  16. CenterIce

    Eager automatic suspension

How does that indicate that you can get two game misconducts in one game? If you are talking about both refs giving a misconduct call at the same time, they only count one. You can only get kicked out of a game once.
  17. CenterIce

    Eager automatic suspension

Please, explain. Once you are kicked out, you are out for good. You can't come back in. If it is sarcasm, just ignore.
  18. CenterIce

    Eager automatic suspension

You are correct. As I said, you (obviously) cannot get two game misconducts in one game.
  19. CenterIce

    Eager automatic suspension

Obviously, it is not 2 game misconducts in one game but over multiple games. I do not believe there is an automatic suspension for multiple 10 minute misconducts. The NHL rule for 10 minutes misconducts does not say anything about automatic suspensions. http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26305
  20. CenterIce

    Eager automatic suspension

I believe it is game misconducts, not 10 minute misconducts that cause the suspension. Edit: added rule. 23.3 Fines and Suspensions – General Category - In regular League games, any player or goalkeeper who incurs a total of three (3) game misconduct penalties in the “General Category” and exclusive of other designated categories, shall be suspended for the next League game of his team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty, the automatic suspension shall be increased by one game. For each suspension of a player or goalkeeper, his Club shall be fined one thousand dollars ($1,000). In Playoff games, any player or goalkeeper who incurs a total of two game misconduct penalties in the “General Category” shall be suspended automatically for the next Playoff game of his team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty during the Playoffs, the automatic suspension shall be increased by one game. For each suspension of a player or goalkeeper during Playoffs, his club shall be fined one thousand dollars ($1,000).

WCF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6, at Blackhawks 1

Zetterberg and Chelios have two of the A's, today. Who has the third?

    Lidstrom out for game 4

He has had that elbow tendinitis for a while. Hopefully, it is not that acting up.

    The Great One?

Some of the most knowledgeable people on a subject are not always the best teachers. They assume too much that the people that they are teaching already should know and understand most of what they are telling them. The best teachers are those who can explain a subject in terms the student can understand/relate to and never assume how much they all ready know.

It was posted before the playoffs started, I believe.

    Lilja's status now "Questionable"

He just have to be careful and be fully recovered, before he comes back. Each concussion amplifies the next ones, and if you don't fully recover from each one, they quickly get worse.
