A CNET Tech Blogger's Take on Why Basillie Should Be Able to Buy C
CenterIce posted a topic in General
Something tells me the blogger doesn't like hockey. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-10242373...g=2547-1_3-0-20 -
The owner of the Bulls/White Sox is well short of Basillie's offer to buy the Coyotes, but the NHL is trying to keep it quiet, so that they can bring him in and avoid the bankruptcy judge giving it to the highest bidder, Basillie. Patrick Roy, as has been rumoured, may become the Colorado head coach. He is also offering his services to any NHL team, as well. Also, Scotty Bowman thinks he deserves a chance after his time in the minors. Dallas could be the next team to go bankrupt, because of the loan defaults of their owner. He owns the Rangers and an English soccer team, as well. The team could receive outside investors or be sold, but bankruptcy is also an option.

Title says it all.

They said it was on NBC, so I am guessing afternoon sometime. They did not say. NBC website says 3:00 PM.

Draper in; Maltby out.

This is one of the best posts I have seen in a while.

Also, if the puck goes into the benches, but still cleared the glass in the defensive zone, it is considered a penalty.
-
Nope, it was only changed within the last few years.
-
By the way, it seems to me that no one really know the status of Leino: he is really a RFA? if yes, we don t risk so much to loose him. If he s a RFA, we definitively should have played him more to give him the envy to stay. Leino is a RFA, so the Wings can match any offer given to him or receive draft picks based on the value of the offer.

This scenario used to be called offsides, but the league changed the rule a few years back to allow the player, who has control of the puck, to back in.
-
I ran it frame by frame, but it is hard to tell. Abdelkader's stick is black near the end, and the puck gets lost in it. It sort of looks like a tweak in direction, once it is near his stick, but it doesn't change much, if at all. It may have grazed his stick or went right over it. I would assume that if he touched it, they would have changed it. The Wings are usually good about those things.

This is what I was going to post.

He has been in the league too long for that. Someone would pick him up.
-
He has said he would still like to continue playing. It looks very unlikely it will be with the Wings, but some team will pick him up to teach their young defensemen some things. LA looks like a fit. He has a house there, he knows Quincey, and he could teach their young defensemen.

Darren Helm: Playoff Specialist http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl/clip170628#clip170628

He is not normally like this. The injury that he is playing through maybe making it hard to stay on his skates.

Your sports package from Comcast is $700/year, or do you mean $7.00/month? Mine is $96/year. You might want to check the pricing, again.
-
It all depends on what Babcock wants from that fourth line. A little grinding/defense/extra center would indicate Abdelkader. If he wants more scoring touch, it would be Leino.
-
In game 3, Ken Daniels said that after Versus had game 4, FSD would have the rest of the series.

One thing you have to admit is that a few games in an NHL regular season doesn't totally equate to being ready for a NHL playoff game, especially one you need to win.

Which referee called the "penalty" on Stuart last night?
CenterIce replied to Bump's topic in General
Sounds like he was a little too over agressive in his calls last night. Someone should create a website that lists all the NHL officials, the games they are in, and what calls they make. I don't think the NHL would mind. -
No, Rafalski has not been skating, while Draper has. Draper has said he just has to wait for the doctors okay, and he is in. Rafalski had a nagging groin injury down the stretch of the regular season, so it is assumed that this is the issue.

If I remember, I will try to review it to see who the official was near the play, to figure out who called it. -
Original Six teams should break away from NHL and for own league

Not to pick on your idea, but Chicago is in the Central Time Zone.
