I don't know if it has been agreed to, yet. But, the main reason less Russians have been taken over the years is because of the lack of a transfer agreement and Russia not wanting to lose all their star players to the NHL. The next country a lot of people are talking about is Germany.

Doing a little research, Franzen's agent is based out of New York, if that means anything.

They are in the first year of new management. The new owners thought throwing money at the situation would be the way to go. Plus, they phased out the previous GM out of the decision making and didn't hire a new one until most of the off season decisions had been made. Finally, they hired Melrose as coach. Now, they are trying to fix the issues they created.

It was one of their Red Wings Weekly episodes.

TV contracts really affect this, as well. You have to fit these games in all these viewable windows.

Flood control caused double post.

Because, I don't think our cap would have worked with just a draft pick, and I don't think Ottawa wanted a 3rd or a 4th. I read one spot wanted a prospect and a second, at least. San Jose and Detroit competing against each other might have driven up the price, too.

They play Colorado on trade deadline night. It may just be advanced game scouting to check out the future opponents.

It's not really ice time that is his problem. It is who is going against. When he plays on the top two lines, he is going against better forwards and defensemen. However, when he is on the lower lines, he matches up against weaker opponents, and he produces. His ice time is low just because Babcock uses his top two lines so much.

Would you rather have a injured Kronwall who can't play during the playoffs or a healthy Kronwall who can dish out the hits during the playoffs, when everything is on the line?

Isn't there a cut-off date where no one can be brought over from Europe past that date? I thought that was put into the CBA. Edit: My bad I was thinking of something else. I was wrong.

It wasn't broken.

Spot on.

The current team reminds me more of two years ago, with problems in their own zone that led to penalties or goals. That team played the same the whole year. They reached the Western Conference Finals but lost to the Ducks. Last year, they played more of a complete game. The February issues last year were mostly due to injuries. They have some of those now, but the overall team play is more like two years ago.

The only consistent thing about NHL officials is their inconsistency.

The buzz is that they could be going to Kansas City, because they are going to play a preseason game there next year.

There is no such thing as front loading contracts in the current NHL CBA. They take the average salary over the entire contract, not just the year to year salary values to figure the cap hit.

Any source on this? I hope it to be true, but I would believe it only if I see it.

That play looked onside to me. The replays they showed had the puck cross the line before Marleau took his skate off the line. Allowing San Jose to get two breaks behind the D were the killers.
