Chicago County Comissioner Already Trying to Mix It Up

Is there any confirmation on that?
-
Yes, that is a very nice gadget.

They did. I did a 12 game package last year. You give them the price range of your seats, you select which games you want to go to (you have to pick a certain amount from various divisions), and they find where they can fit you in. If they can, they try to keep you in the same general area.
-
I believe buying now locks you into this past season's prices. I don't think you get anything lower than that.

Once a player reaches a certain age and number of years in the league, to be sent down to the minors that have to clear waivers. This is so the owners can't just send anyone down for whatever reason. If a player is placed on waivers they have 48 hours for all the other teams to decide if they would like to take that player or not. The selection order goes in reverse record. If a player clears waivers, he can be sent down. In the new CBA there is also re-entry waivers which work in reverse. So, it makes it harder to send a veteran player down and bring him back up later. There are other things involved, but this is the basic idea.

I believe it was the old owenership who gave him the extension. Also, I believe even with him, they are under the cap. http://www.nhlnumbers.com/overview.php?tea...amp;season=0809

Obligatory forward lines thread for next season
CenterIce replied to LidstromIsASuperhero's topic in General
You would have to make one more move, because it is only a 23 man roster. -
I believe he is an UFA, because the Wings had signed him to a one year deal. He will probably play in Russia.
-
Just fixed it, I forgot about Kopecky, since we hadn't heard from him, since the end of the regular season.

Obligatory forward lines thread for next season
CenterIce replied to LidstromIsASuperhero's topic in General
Datsyuk – Zetterberg – Holmstrom Filppula – Franzen – Hossa Maltby – Draper – Cleary Hudler – Kopecky – Samuelsson Meech Lidstrom – Rafalski Kronwall – Stuart Lilja – Lebda Chelios Quincey Osgood Conklin -
They still have to resign Filppula, Quincey, Ericsson, and Howard, Chelios, McCarty, and Downey (or some combination there of).
-
Here are my thoughts (Meech extra defenseman and forward). The other thing I can see is Chelios not resigning and McCarty is an extra forward: Datsyuk – Zetterberg – Holmstrom Filppula – Franzen – Hossa Maltby – Draper – Cleary Hudler – Kopecky – Samuelsson Meech Lidstrom – Rafalski Kronwall – Stuart Lilja – Lebda Chelios Quincey Osgood Conklin

As the article states, there have only been 26 NHL players from there.

It states this in the article, but it is not quoted, like it is in the post, so their is no indication that Holland ever said this. It is just the author inference. I think if the Wings sign Stuart you'll have: Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Lebda Chelios Quicney Meech With the last four guys going through a rotation, and since Ericsson still has options in the AHL, he would probably start there. If Stuart doesn't sign, the Wings may go Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Lilja Lebda Chelios with Meech and Quincey rotating in and Ericsson still in AHL. There is still the option of a FA defensemen, if Stuart does not sign.

Phoenix has a lot of young talent, but you have to see how well they mesh together, before you can say how far they can go. However, Bryzgolov can steal some games for them, but as someone stated because of their division, they probably won't make the playoffs. It doesn't matter about divisonal records, it matters about overall records, and I can't see Phoenix doing better than Anaheim, Dallas, and San Jose
-
As of now, you have to look at San Jose and Anaheim. San Jose has some talent, and now they have a coach who knows us well. Hopefiully, Babcock has some new wrinkles to keep the league guessing, next year. Anaheim is still a young, tough team with good goaltending and a deep defense.

I am not knocking Helm. He played well in the playoffs, especially since he hadn't played much with this group at all. However, I still think Meech was a better choice for the award. When Lidstrom, Chelios, and Kronwall were all out during our bad stretch earlier this year. Meech accepted a huge increase in minutes and played well. He didn't score many points, but I don't think it was any coincendece that they were all scored during the games in February, where he was getting consistent time and shifts. Also, as an added bonus he can play forward, as well. I think we can all agree that Meech could be considered the regular season rookie of the year and Helm the playoff rookie of the year. The writers probably went with Meech, because of the greater body of work.
-
My thoughts exactly. On Helm, he didn't come into the playoffs until late in the first round, while Meech made a key impact when Lidstrom was out.
