I haven't looked at the link (nor am I agreeing with any rankings), but I am guessing they liked the Weight deal, because he will be a free agent at the end of the year, so this allowed them to bring back Niedermayer. You can't look at just this year's cap. You have to look at future years, as well. The Weight for McDonald deal, allowed Anaheim to free up the money next year to have Niedermayer, this year.

They replay those a ton, so you should be able to tape it.

I have won a few items on that site. Just becareful you don't bid more than what you can get it for somewhere else.

I don't know about this, but Anaheim offered him somethings Detroit was never going to do. The first two years were guaranteed (the second year was the lockout), and they gave him a clause where he could get out of the contract twice, before it was up. Detroit wasn't going to give him that much.
-
Not quite. It is tied to revenue, so if the league loses money one year, the cap could go down.

I was going by the normal channel that was scrolling that Red Wings Live was going to start at 7:00.
-
You've got the right channels, but it looks like the game is at 7:30.

If you are not aware, when a sporting event is on the main FSN Detroit channel, FSN + is an alternate channel where you can access other events that may be on at the same time. Tonight, FSN Detroit is showing the CCHA Championship, so the Wings game is on FSN +. The FSN Detroit website list all alternate channels.

How does it not? Winners of the National Hockey League's William M. Jennings Trophy, awarded to goaltenders playing in a minimum of 25 games for the team with the fewest goals allowed.

The power of search: Winners of the National Hockey League's William M. Jennings Trophy, awarded to goaltenders playing in a minimum of 25 games for the team with the fewest goals allowed.

This list doesn't make any sense. They say it is about backup goalies, but they talk a lot about the starters, as well. Maybe they were going for goalie tandems, but then wrote the intro. wrong.

Those are the commercials they run on the NHL network. They air those so many times, you can just tape a 30 minute segment and get about 4 of them.

I'd like to see: Franzen-Datsyuk-Cleary Flip-Hank-Homer A little twist on this. Franzen, Datsyuk, Homer Filppula, Zetterberg, Cleary Drake, Draper, Maltby Hudler, Kopecky, Samuelsson Extra forward: Downey against certain teams Lidstrom, Rafalski Kronwall, Stuart Chelios, Meech Extra Defensemen: Lija, Lebda depending on if defense or offense is needed.

I just saw that video. He couldn't stop laughing. Also, they asked Sammy who would be a model if they weren't playing hockey. His answer: Zetterberg.

The curve was recently increased (beginning of this year maybe?). I don't know what curve the players in discussion had, but the legal curve is more than it was before. The funny thing was I remember the comment about the change was that you probably wouldn't see anymore illegal sticks, because the change was more than enough. Rule 10.1: The curvature of the blade of the stick shall be restricted in such a way that the distance of a perpendicular line measured from a straight line drawn from any point at the heel to the end of the blade to the point of maximum curvature shall not exceed three-quarters of an inch (3/4").

He is not "taking over" Holmstrom's PP spot. Right now, he is standing in front of the net, because Homer is out, but he can be in the same spot on the second PP unit, once Homer is back.

The funny thing is that Bettman has said multiple times that they have done nothing about a new winter classic, since the old one. He said there has been no studies to see if any stadium can hold a rink or has enough seats to make it worth while. Now, all these cities are being named as having the next one. I think all these reporters are asking about their city, and when the NHL gives their standard answer of we aren't ruling anyone out, the reporter writes a story that they are getting the Winter Classic.
-
That is what they do, now.

All goals are supposed to be reviewed by the NHL Situation Room, before play resumes. The problem lies in what specific incidents allow for a goal to be overturned/allowed. I would think their should be something that allows for blatant mistakes like netting, too many men, offsides, etc. The NHL just doesn't want to have to cover everything. I would like to see the Situation Room have the ability to buzz in, like in college football, to say take a look at this play.

Not anymore with his son taking over the team.

27. Atlanta Thrashers (29-31-7, Previous: 26) – Don Waddell fired Bob Hartley after the Thrashers started 0-6 and decided to stay behind the bench since, splitting his GM role with coaching. Obviously he wants to see what’s available in the summer. An American GM probably wouldn’t do this, but with a star like Ilya Kovalchuk, wouldn’t it be interesting for someone to take a chance on, say, Igor Larionov?

No one has to get waived, because the roster expands after the trading deadline for the playoffs.
-
The NFL players really hate it, so I wouldn't think the NHL ones would agree to it.

Quincey had a Dallas player to the side of the net. Lilja was the closet to the guy who scored.
