They are on the Wings' site.

The two penalty shots in one game is a first for Detroit, according to ESPN's recap of the game. The two goals going off defensemen is nothing new. It happens to both sides.

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0345/1128/rss16 The only issue I see with this is that he doesn't play the fourth line much, and the Draper line is more of a defensive line. That basically leaves everything on the second line. I won't bring up the splitting of the top line, since it has been discussed before. However, I think Babcock needs to roll four lines more, at minimum to rest the other lines.

I used to be a member of that site from it's start up until about a year ago. I couldn't take the empty promises any more. Ticket presales were actually one of two things (the forum) that were good. The forum started to drop off, before I left, and I went in together with some guys for season tickets, so I didn't really see much in the site any more. The site was not really run by the Wings, so pretty much everything that was advertised wasn't really working. They changed providers, after I left, so I don't know if that changed anything.

I wish I had the NHL Network. I heard August, then October, then November. It is almost December. They must not have a lot of people calling for it, so they figured no one wants it.

How about the following lines: Franzen - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Kopecky - Zetterberg - Samuelsson Hudler - Filppula - Cleary Maltby - Draper - Downey You have a mix of grit, playmaking, and scoring on each line, and like I said in my orignal post, roll all four lines regularly.

After reading this article, I started to think I was reading an article about the NHL. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_spo..._a_problem.html

The Wings played Chicago 3 straight times recently, as well.

Do these sports writers know anything about the Wings?
CenterIce replied to wingnut40's topic in General
This is why you have to be careful when reading stories from the Internet, especially from blogs. You don't always know who the author might be. This guy is definitely not a journalist. He is just a "fan" with a blog. -
The unfortunate reality is that you don't even have to come in contact with a player with your stick to get a hooking call. I saw one call last year that Zetterberg received a hooking penalty when he had his stick up in the air and was a few feet away from an opponent. The back ref called it.

It's interesting that you keep hearing that just having the stick parallel to the ice is considered hooking, However, the rule specifically states you have to impede a player. They really need to reign this penaltyh in. Going back as far as last year's playoffs, hooking has been the number one called penalty. http://www.nhl.com/rules/index.html 55.2 Minor Penalty - A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player or goalkeeper who impedes the progress of an opponent by hooking with his stick. A minor penalty for hooking shall be assessed to any player or goalkeeper who uses the shaft of the stick above the upper hand to hold or hook an opponent.

The goofy thing about it is that the NHL Network is from Versus, who is owned by Comcast. However, not all areas covered by Comcast have it. You would think they would be selling this thing up.

It has to be the red. They are the Red Wings, and as stated earlier, the red sweaters were the home choice long before white. The argument that they bring up on the broadcast about not being able to distinguish between the opposition teams is stupid. The new sweaters allowed a lot of teams to redesign their sweaters, and that has caused a lot of it. I went to the Sharks game earlier in the year, and with the colors and the logo being so small, it looked like the Blues were in town. They said tonight that third sweaters are coming back. Teams switch their colors and logos way too much.

A couple of comments. Just staying out of the crease isn't enough anymore. The leauge is saying that players have to allow the goalie to come out to stop the puck, so some goalies are initiating contact with the skaters and getting a benefit goalie interference penalty. Holmstrom was called for interference, not goalie interference. They mentioned this during the game. The only thing I could see was that he kind of pushed the defenseman out, so that he could get out of the goalies way. The defenseman wasn't allowing him to move out. I think that Homer and Dom are on some refs' lists, and if they see something out of the corner of their eye, involving those two, they get the penalty. I still see them go after Dom for the water bottle on top of the net.

I had to chime in on this one. Kopecky has had little ice time this year. He is not on the power play, nor penalty kill. He has only averaged 8 minutes per game, so far this year. Babcock has said he wants to get Kopecky more time, but it took him to game 5 to have over 10 minutes for a game. You do earn your ice time, but at the same time, you have to have ice time to earn more. All that extra time given Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom is at the expense of the fourth line. Babcock shortens his bench a lot. Kopecky is still basically a rookie, because he was hurt for a large part of last year. It is a little early to be dumping on him.

Mick mentioned this year that there were a couple of places that did not allow cooking in the hotel rooms. I think he mentioned LA for one. I think they should start sending the broadcasters to those hotels with the kitchenetts, so Mick can make the road trips.

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=33858...mp;service=page Sorry. I meant Pronger. I saw Probert's name on the topics list, and I must have gotten that stuck in my head.

He signed a one year deal with Detroit. If he goes back to Russia, he would finish the season there and become a free agent.
