1/8 GDT: Detroit Red Wings Vs. Dallas Stars

I am not saying the Wings lost completely because of the refs. The Wings only played one good period. The refs were bad the whole game, against both teams. Dallas converted better on their power play, which was the difference. What I am trying to say is that the referees did not help in this game. They need to be neutral, only calling what needs to be called. When they start calling things, they "think" looks like a penalty, they go too far.

The biggest problem with Osgood is his positioning. He maybe in the right spot for the first shot, but not for any rebounds, which he gives up a lot of.

Why is it not the refs fault for calling penalties that are not there?

They like to do that a lot.

I am in absolute agreement with what Mickey just said about the Zetterberg "penalty". This whole turn around started happening when they started calling phantom penalties against Detroit, to even things up.

I see the same thing. He needs a rhythm. Doesn't make for a good back-up goalie, though, who has to be sharp for a start every now and then.

He already lost his starting job, with Legace winning two in a row. The only two reasons Osgood played tonight was because Legace played back-to-back, coming off a knee injury, and Osgood played well against Dallas last time.

Filppula signed with the Red Wings

Frazen signed a one way contract, so by that basis I would say Frazen is more ready for the NHL.
