2/2 GDT: Franzen 5 + Red Wings 2 (7) at Senators (5)

Maybe the TEAM defense was that good. Defense takes all the guys on the ice working together. -

No, they are just hoping they will be able to score more, when the injured players come back. -

Yep. McCrimmon really forgot to cover that guy when he was on the ice there. -

What someone not blaming a goalie when the puck goes in the net? Wow! -

Yep, they are getting tired being stuck in their own zone. They need better puck movement to move the puck up ice. -

There is basically your answer. Where is the defense getting the puck out of the zone, relieving the pressure? -

As I said earlier, outside of 2008 Cup year, it has basically been like this. Players need to commit to the defensive side of the game more. -

Welcome to the new NHL. You pretty much can't touch a opposition player in your defensive zone. -

You got it. As Murphy just showed in the intermission, players are over committing and not recognizing the situation. -

MacLean was the defensemen coach before McCrimmon. -

Outside of the 2008 cup year and maybe a little the next, the Wings D has been like this for years. They usually try to enforce their will by their offense. Their minus first period goal differential in the first period this year is not helping. -

I didn't get to see the first goal, but the other two were basically from two uncovered players getting off fast shots. Goalies play angles. They have to take the guy with the puck and have to leave the rest of the guys to their teammates. -

Um, the problem is not one coach. McCrimmon coaches the defensemen. That doesn't mean he came up with and enacted the entire defensive game plan. That would be all three coaches. Defense requires all five guys on the ice working together. As it can be seen, the Wings start and end periods flat. I believe that is mostly on the players relaxing too much. They need a full focused 60 minutes. -

One of the minority owners wants to sell not the majority owner.

It also doesn't help being a Red Wing. They are usually one of the top teams in the league, so it is thought that the player was helped out by his team. Think of how many Wings finished second over the years. Yzerman, Fedorov, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, and Howard come to mind.

He has been wanting that change for years. I don't mind 1 & 5. Love 2. Not so big on the other 2.

According to Garth Snow, it sounds like the Islanders will be keeping him.

Never know. Just saying more teams get a quicker shot than Wings. If someone picks him up and suspends him, no one else could get a chance.
