  1. Don't know about Nabokov, but either his agent does or they were not on same page.
  2. Looks like Sharks may have put in claim, too. So, if Isles place Nabokov on waivers, Sharks would be among first to get a crack at him.
  3. It is still a long shot, but the option is now back open.
  4. That was reported early in the whole situation, but as it went along, it was reported that it wasn't the case.
  5. That might take a while.
  6. He would have to go through all the teams again with who ever put in a claim the first time getting first shot.
  7. According to recent reports Nabokov will not report to Islanders, going against what his agent stated earlier in week.
  8. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/01/islanders_claim_evgeni_nabokov.html
  9. His agent has said he will play for whoever claims him.
  10. It is just because someone got the better of the Red Wings, even though it is within the rules.
  11. Who said anything about being fair. Until the rules are changed, that is what everyone has to work with.
  12. DiPietro is always hurt. They goalie that they brought up after trading Rolloson was injured last night. Nabokov only costs 570,000.
  13. No one wanted him for a large contract, but at 570,000, he is a bargain. Haven't seen that, but I will take your word for it.
  14. Exposure for all 30 teams not the fans.
  15. According to his agent, he wants exposure for next year. He says he will play for whoever picks him.
  16. I have never seen anything to think Holland lies in the media to cover a move. He may not say anything, so as to not reveal his cards, but he seems to be a very honest person in his comments.
  17. This thread is repeating too much. Nabokov has a no movement clause, and the waiver rule stipulates that in this case a player would have to be placed back on waivers for a trade to take place, repeating this whole process.
  18. This was in no way a move made because of poor play from Osgood and Howard. Holland stated he likes his goalies "when healthy". This was all about having more depth (which is the main mantra of the Red Wings) and resting Howard for the playoffs.
  19. If he was signed before December 15th, none of this would have mattered. Before that date, any player who played in Europe this year could have been signed without the waiver process.
  20. For those still waiting for an "official" confirmation. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=550290
  21. It has been posted already. But waivers was instituted so you cannot hide a guy in the minors or Europe for a whole year, off the payroll, and bring him back for the playoffs or whenever you want him.
  22. Problem with this is how much Osgood will be able to play. It will take him a while to get into game shape, once he is healthy. And, while he is getting healthy Howard will be getting tired playing every game until then. This is why the Wings were trying to get Nabokov.
  23. Pretty much. His agent said he would play for whoever claims him, and he has a no movement clause.
  24. They need a goalie for a while, and it only costs them $570,000. What doesn't make sense?
