I like it! He brings what the Wings need and it comes for cheap.

For a 1-year contract at under $2.5 million, I would say alright, but otherwise I would spend the money elsewhere. I just don't think the back will heal up to allow him to be the same player everyone is wanting him to be.

I say put Lilja on waivers, resign Schneider if he will take less, Chelios for cheap yet again as he is a good 6th (7th maybe) defenseman, and then bring up Quincy and Kindl. That would look really nice!

I like it. Calder is an upgrade over Williams when he is on his game and now we have an extra roster spot open for next year. It can only get better from here. -

Yeah, McCarty is nothing good these days. I miss the old days for the Wings. Every team has a few guys that will just drop them to drop them. The Wings don't even have guys that stick up for teammates when they get laid out anymore.
