If they did this, and the last thing we heard is that they were closer with Dom than anyone else, I think they're set. And geez, everyone forgets about the Stanley Cup Winning, 300-game winning backup we have. Or we can go out and spend $5-6 million for Joseph, or maybe Belfour, since Florida got Vokoun. I would have prefered Calder.

Come on guys, the Wings NEVER act quickly on free agents. Which means they had to know Schneider was leaving, and we saw how fast Schneider did leave. Who else were thy gonna sign? Poti? This thread would have double the replies already if they signed Poti.

Aw, now Schneider gets to play with Fed---oh wait. I hope we don't play Anaheim in the playoffs this year, or we might lose another guy.

With as many players as Detroit has "of age," they constantly have to focus on keeping those guys and signing them for one or two years every time a contract is up. It;s good to get a guy they don't have to worry about for awhile.

im starting to hate hockey. it was scheduled at 7 on VS, 7:30 on NHL.com, 8 on CBC, then VS si going to tape delay ot at 11 i guess, and now im watching a live event that already happened apprently.

Yes. Use his salary and the salary gained from Jiri Fischer becoming UFA to sign a defenseman that won't get injured. (No offense to Fischer, it's just that his contract is up. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see the Wings sign him just to keep paying him.)

losing 5-0 AND giving up a 3-1 lead to lose would be reeeaaallly bad for the ducks. i think they'd be done. it woul dbe hard to come back from 3-1 in a series regardless, but losing two like that would make it worse. -
