Not new-thread worthy, but did anyone else switch over to the Sharks-Bruins game during intermission? Start of 3rd, 2-1 Bruins.
-
That one was one of the most solid periods the Wings have played all season. Stronger get-go than the 5-0 lead Saturday, but without the amount of goals to show for it.
-
Conkblock has been sharp the few times he's been called upon.
-
Kopecky has wore my patience thin, but how can Sammy be even close to being considered anyone's goat? He's been beyond great this year given his role.
-
*sigh* He's been great for his pay the past two seasons. See above
-
See. See Lilja. See Lilja go hard to the net! I love it!
-
HD NHL CenterIce and the NHL Network were two of the biggest reasons my wife and I made the switch. Fox in HD was another given that we're Packers fans and had to watch them in horses*** standard feeds.
-
True, Leino looked better on D Sunday but that's only one game. He's young and playing alongside Hossa will only help reinforce strong backchecking and defensive responsibility.
-
Yeah, I figued. DirecTV's menu is usually extremely accurate. Meaning, if its not listed....it doesn't exist.
-
And that will be good for Leino to be on a line with a solid back-checker like Hossa. He'll learn a lot real quick.
-
Even though they didn't score on the PP, watching Dats and Z the minute of the PP was a treat. Those two have a chemistry that's second to none. Great focus by Z on his goal. I do, but not an HD one. Both Preds standard and HD feed are coming through on Center Ice.
-
It absolutely isn't, but its always nice to hang on to these types of sites as long as you can.
-
Agreed. I was using that site during my visit to DC since my brother-in-law doesn't have CenterIce, and I'd love for it to stay on the DL. Unfortunately, the Preds have it listed within their GDT as well.
-
God I hope not. Please keep the GA at 2 or below.

May his reign as owner of this team never end. While Lidstrom's salary keeps the Wings competitive, everything successful within the Wings starts with him.
-
True, but it doesn't make it any less painful.
-
If it helps ease the blow, my wife and I drove 9 hours just to get there and I was 34.4 seconds away from witnessing my favorite team in all of sports win the most coveted trophy on their home ice. I don't think I'll ever be ok with it until I'm at the next Wings home Cup-Clinching game that they actually win. For me, no sports event has ever been more painful than that finish.

The way Legace was ushered out of town, there's no way Holland picks him up. There would be no point to it either. It's not as if Babs would let him even sniff the ice during the playoffs, and getting to the playoffs isn't a problem for this team. So I ask, what's the point of bringing him in? Sidenote: I was about to move this to the Mill, but I see Jedi took care of it.

That makes more sense, and I'm not trying to be argumentative but I also can't fault Franzen for never having the issues Cleary did early on in his career. On the same note, Franzen started off on the Wings in a grinding role and has earned every bit of his line promotion. Bottom line, I guess you can't go wrong either way given that their roles are completely different at this point. In other words, apples to oranges.

While I agree that Cleary tends to be the more tenacious player, I don't necessarily think that equals more heart, grit or work-ethic. Work-ethic is measured both on the ice and off, and none us can say the amount of work any player puts in unless we have an "in". Heart is an intangible that I don't think is fairly given to either one of those two over the other. Perhaps Cleary is a little more gritty, but its not as if Franzen is a cream-puff. The guy stands in front of the net, takes a massive beating and tries to keep himself from getting killed from point shots, all the while re-directing goals with far more skill than Cleary. Again, that's no shot on Cleary...I just think giving those categories to one of those two players over the other is a little too arbitrary.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again...Hossa owed Pittsburgh *nothing*.
-
18. NeverForgetMac25 11 Seriously, somebody shoot me in the head. What a horrendous season for me.
-
For his salary, Lilja was great last year too. The year before was a different story, but it tood the overwhelming masses some time last year to start to realize it.
-
That's because they're not actually reporting attendance...they're reporting tickets sold. It's kind of lame that they announce it like that at games, but its likely because it sounds better than saying, "Today's amount of tickets sold was.......14,345!" Edit: I see CM already beat me to it. Something that isn't appropriate for this forum.

You also forgot to mention size for Franzen. That being said, I disagree with your assessment that Cleary has more heart, grit and work ethic. Cleary is a more tenacious fore-checker, but the jury's still out on the categories you gave Cleary. That's no shot on Cleary either.
