Ouch.....beyond devastating blow for NJ. They're in a *lot* of trouble.
-
You know it doesn't work that way.
-
I'll be contacting every single person I know to register for this. If one of them gets pulled....hello Wrigley!

From what I understand, every team in the NHL gets one or two extended breaks like this over the course of a season. I don't think it necessarily *must* coincide with the conclusion of a long, distant road trip but its the NHL's way of giving their players a break throughout the long season. Keep in mind that these guys don't have weekends like we do. They're constantly either on the road, at practice or playing in games. This/these break(s) are there to help keep the players from burning out and protect their (for a lack of better terms) sanity.

Perhaps make the next round double elimination. Just an idea to kick around.

That's a good one!

The coalition for the fight against the Random Idiot. Sidenote: Yes, Echolalia....plenty of people have already freaked out. No different than any past season and no different than it will be next season.

13/20....FINALLY! A decent week. Likewise

The bottom line to last nights game was a combination of running out of steam from the ANA game, but more so than that was the lack of a forecheck. Heaton has it right with his avatar. The fact of the matter is that Dallas Drake didn't light the lamp but his in your face style in the offensive zone created tons of turnovers, plenty of SOG's and few SOG's against as a result. The forecheck in the offensive zone wasn't there last night and the Sharks had the puck on their sticks all night. People keep talking about the defense needing to step up (and they do need to play a little better with their missed assignments) but as great as the Wings' offense has been, they are not forechecking the way they did last season. Get that back and alot of the problems they've faced thus far go away.

You obviously either weren't paying attention at the beginning of the season or weren't even a "Red Wings" fan at that point yet.
-
You're pissed off because the Red Wings haven't played flawless every single game of the season, which is ridiculous to ask any team in any sport. As great as these players are, they are still human and will make mistakes. They will go through slumps and play lower than their ability. You don't seem to understand that. Sidenote: Gofigure that the team playing the Penguins last year looked like a well-oiled machine...they had over a 100 games under their belt at that point. The Wings had plenty of early faults last year too.
-
No you won't be. People like you are never happy or satisfied. You just replace those things with something new to be pessimistic about. I.E. I didn't like the Windsor Knot in Babcocks tie last night...I can't stand the yellow underside of Hossa's gloves...Why can't all the Red Wings players buy GM cars so the economy in Detroit would be better off...when am I ever gonna get laid...etc. People like you don't get happy, they find something new to be pissed off about.

Along with *superstition*. You just don't want to admit it because you don't believe in it. I get that you don't, my initial point was that a good amount of people here do.
-
I hate to burst your bubble, but there are plenty of *professional* athletes (as well as fans and athletes of all levels) that are very superstitious whether you (or the athletes you supposedly know) are or not. What do you think a playoff beard is all about?
-
That's the thing though, *you're not being realistic*. Have the Wings struggled on D: absolutely. Have they also been great in other areas: Without a doubt. Yet you continue to not acknowledge that. Your the type of guy that burns bridges, aren't you? You leave a team and then piss in their locker room after the last practice.
-
What you don't seem to get is that your posts come off as if the Red Wings don't deserve to be skating on the same ice as the rest of the NHL. It's pretty ridiculous considering not even their accomplishment last year, but the fact that they are 7-1-2 *this* year. It's also extremely outlandish to state the *only* chance the Wings have is if the Sharks play the wort game of the season.
-
*To you*, but plenty of hockey players don't agree. Its very much a part of sports whether you think its ridiculous or not.
-
You may think its nonsense but there are plenty of members here that don't.

Friendly Piece of Advice: That word is a no-no on Gameday until it comes to fruition or proves to be untrue.

:rotflmao: Classic initial post to the GDT! If you buy mindfly a pony, he'll complain about the manure.

CenterIce now broadcasts *both* home and away feeds. If you have DirectTV they broadcast both feeds in standard and HD. It's glorious! -
It's absolutely no knock on Shanny. The guy was huge for Detroit for many years, but his time has passed.

On offense only. Atleast Sammy hustles and plays defense.
