Like when we state "once and a while" rather than "once in a while"? Cheers Opie

I agree with RB....while the defense has left something to be desired, Ozzie currently isn't playing at the level he did last spring. It's not to say that there's anything wrong with Oz, just that he (and the defense) need to tighten things up.
-
True, but he can't currently play the sport of *hockey* at the level those 4 you just mentioned can. Not every move the team makes with players like Mac has to do with how they feel about toughness, yet you constantly ascertain that it does.

I knew that seemed off. Cheers....and fixed.

I don't disagree. That was the whole point of my post. All three of those guys that are currently in the minors stand a great chance of being with the big club next year given the Wings' Cap situation. If those guys can bring to the table what is realistically expected of them, the Wings are fine shape. As for Hudler....he's a wildcard given that he's a RFA next year rather than an UFA.
-
I think there's a very solid chance all of them will be up given the Wings cap situation. The fact of the matter is that its going to be a rough offseason given the amount of top-end UFA's the Wings have to re-sign, and any chance they have at bringing up reasonable priced talent will only help balance off the increased wages of Z, Franzen, etc.

Meh, it wasn't the first time fans have reacted after a late penalty was called and it certainly won't be the last. In regards to that, my thought is that if you have to justify it based on outside circumstances (in this case, the amount of time left), then your team was guilty and got what they deserved. Tear.

From what I understand McLellan's *primary* focus was the offense and more specifically the PP. Whether that means MacLean was/still is in charge of the defense, I'm not 100% clear. Either way, I think Bluemonk is right in stating that the Wings are treating these games as extended exhibition games. IIRC, while the Wings jumped out to a similar record last year I believe the same level of concern was there regarding their overall level of play. The fact of the matter is that the Wings aren't clicking on all cylinders *yet*, but like last year have still won the majority of their early games and will continue to improve as a cohesive unit. Does anyone remember how annoyed people were getting last year when a good amount of posters were saying, "relax, its early" a little less than a month in to the season? We're not even that far yet and things turn out just fine.

Wow, I continue to suck. 11 two weeks in a row.
-
Is it just me, or was that intermission longer than normal? I thought it was only supposed to be 17 minutes.
-
Finally the ref threw out a Ranger for an early jump on the face-off.
-
Dats
-
That was an interesting face-off given that the Wings are the home team.

Gofigure....a team with all the talent in the world would get out to a nice lead when they work hard.

BTW.....someone fire Sammy. He's terrible.

You gotta love that Sammy gets the beauty of an opening goal. ..and then Franzen crashes the net!

In America typically guys don't wear a wedding band until they're married. Though I was brought up Catholic and I'm not sure what Z is. Protestant I assume?
-
Guys wear engagement rings in Sweden?
-
Funny, he didn't say that in the one I could read. Twenty bucks says this a translation of the article Elshupacabra posted.
-
Good lord no. One of the two for Crosby would be a nice debate, but both is ridiculous.
-
There has been no report saying he'll be out another 7-10 days *alteast*. Right now, all thats released states that Z won't return before next Wednesday's game against St. Louis.

Tear Malkin.....It's hockey for Christ's sake.
