Decent pricing scheme, but I wonder if he banks on anyone questioning the difference between a 6 month subscription and a yearly one. If you ordered a 6 month subscription ($29.99) plus a 1 month subscription ($9.99--$39.98 total) that would last from the start of the regular season (Oct. 9) through April 9th. By that time, we're in the playoffs and almost all Wings games are covered by Vs. or NBC. Just food for thought to save one $10 over the yearly subscription.

Were you at the game? The game wasn't televised nor did I listen to it, but if the NHL.com Game Summary is accurate, Kopecky and Belle both got roughing minors with Belle getting the extra 2. It looks like Homer scored ten seconds later. So if anything, that hit helped the Wings because it forced Belle to take an extra penalty thus giving the Wings a PP opportunity that they cashed in on.

My thoughts exactly. The whole point of the rule was to increase scoring by forcing the offending team to immediately take a face-off in their own zone without switching players. By going to a commercial you take out 1 of the 2 key ingredients of what makes this difficult on the offending team.

Driving an incredible car doesn't make you any less modest. From these photos it seems that he enjoys the finer things in life that his work has allowed him to afford. More power to him. Now, if he were arrogant about it and constantly brought it up then his modesty could come in to question.

That's because he's not going to play in the second preseason game. The first game will be played by Team Howe, and I would assume he'll be on Team Lindsay given that Cleary and Sammy (his start-of-the-season linemates) are on that squad. His first game would have been on Thursday and they'll keep him out as a precaution.

Our defense really needs to let up a little bit and give Oz a few more SOG's per game to keep his mind from wandering. How can you think that stuff up without having way too much time alone with your thoughts? Goalies (as always) are weird.

Would "very good" have been better? Perhaps "well above average"? How about "quite solid"? You're just splitting hairs now GMR. He's coming off a +21 year, he rarely makes defensive mistakes in the offensive zone, let alone extremely rarely in his defensive zone, and plays the second D-pairing PP unit for an obvious reason. Compared to how people like to trash Sammy since its the trendy thing to do on this site, it take verbage like phenomenal defensively just to get a point across. The fact of the matter is Sammy is an all-around bargain for what he's getting paid.

No, there aren't cheaper replacements for Sammy. Name one. Leino and Helm *currently* couldn't do/bring what Sammy does. If you truly believe that I question how closely you've watched Samuelsson play (or Leino and Helm for that matter). I thought this thread was about the final forward spots. TBH, I don't think we will. We'll get the Versus, NHL Network and NBC games in HD, but I doubt we'll get the FSN HD games unless were in the regional area. I may be, but we'll see on Thursday when Direct TV gets installed.
