But its ok if its Z, Dats or Lids....right? Gimme a break, Crosby gets love because he's one of the best in the game and he's the NHL's marketing dream. God forbid they'd try and appeal to their North American fan base. I'd like to see Z, Dats or Lids get pumped as much as Crosby too, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it because the those three won the trophy that Crosby didn't last year.

You would think at some point his last name would stop garnering him more opportunities than he ever deserved. Apparently not.

You're gonna be waiting for a long time. It won't happen.

Favre was pushed out by the Ted Thompson because his boy (and his first draft pick as the Packers GM -- Aaron Rodgers) is waiting in the Wings. All Favre has done wrong is tell the Packers three years ago that it was okay to draft a quaterback. But that's for a different thread.

Ty Conklin and Pavel Datsyuk = Conksyuk. Think about it. -
Brad slashed someone in that clip? All I could see was full length pants.

Nice that he'll come with comfort. No complaints from me.

I respectfully disagree. Z's backhander in Game 4 of the COL series was the best of the playoffs and perhaps the season.

I would assume this comment was a joke due to the emoticon, but you, as well as everyone else know thats not what I meant. I was referring to the personal insults. You have, but again I was referring to the personal insults that seem to come from more than one poster over the course of 2-3 pages of this thread. Don't read in to things so much...you're other points were fine.

While I'm not defending Dawgs' comments, there is some merit to Downey not hurting the team but only helping in a one dimensional way. I by no means am anti-enforcer, but I would like the Wings' tough guy to atleast be able to play hockey and somewhat contribute on the scoreboard. While a guy like Downey helped this past season, it most certainly would've been nice to have a guy like Laraque added to the lineup next year.

I'm really late in jumping in on this thread but I like Hudler because his vision is phenomenal (way better than Sammy's), he puts up solid numbers for the amount of minutes he gets, is creative with the puck and he makes plays. Is that enough? See Above Although, I will say that Sammy is better defensively than Hudler.

It's not about surviving....its about visitors having to sift through pages of crap to read something useful. Bottom line, Kenny may have some work to do, but it isn't absolutely vital that he bring in an enforcer if they preach team-toughness. Having a guy like Downey or Mac that can fill in as needed is beneficial, but not the end all and most likely isn't going to make or break the season. There's plenty of seasons the Wings didn't win with an enforcer and there are seasons they've won without one. As someone mentioned earlier, having an enforcer is reason 997 of 1,000 why the Wings won the Cup this year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this thread created to discuss the vacant Assistant Coach and Video Coordinator position along with Filp's signing?

Calder....pfft! What about Cory Cross?

It's not that they don't happen, they most certainly do.....but page upon page of the same juvenile insults are different than when someone posts a thread asking "So what do we think about Bertuzzi?". It's the people inside the thread that derail with personal insults page after the next or put it back on topic. I totally understand people will throw a jab here or there, but seriously rereading this thread is a clusterf*ck.
-
I realize everyone has their own personality here, but lets keep this thread on topic without a personal jab in every single post. TBH, adding thoughts about the thread at hand after you've poked fun doesn't make the insult irrelevant. It makes the thread as a whole seem juvenile.

Not where the cap is now. Kenny has made it the Wings MO to have modestly priced goaltending while spending the bulk of your cash on defense. Couple that with the puck-possession game the Wings play and there's no need to sign the Luongo's or Miller's of the NHL.

I know you weren't referring to me BRTD, but TBH I don't like black because its the "cool" thing to do (and you are correct in saying that), I actually like it because it just looks sharp. I like the way the Wings logo pops off the black practice jersey, but I hate how busy the underarms are. TBH, I do think the Wings current home jersey, kept the exact same except for switching the red for black would look extremely sharp. *NOW* that being said, I absolutely want no part of the Wings organization adding a third jersey especially a black one, due to the Wings long-standing tradition and how trendy black has become.

Where did you get that from? He was slated to make $3.5 million next year.

Or Russian.....lets not be stereotypical here.

*Now* this thread can end. I'm seriously this close to calling someone "Hitler" just so this thread can finally RIP.

That's what I thought as well, which makes this picture all the more baffling. The only thing I can think of is intersquad scrimmages that perhaps they made into an "event" for the Traverse City fans to attend. Other than that possible scenario, I've never seen them wear anything but their camp jerseys.
-
I was going to venture a guess that it was due to a preseason game where the majority of the regulars had the night off, but the background suggests this is a TC pick. Perhaps intersquad scrimmages.....although I didn't think they actually wore their true colors during those games.
