If Kopecky is unable to start the season inserting Helm as the 4 center makes the most sense at this point seeing as that guys like Franzen have played themselves off the 4th line for good. Unless Kopecky can't start the season I don't see Helm being on the team barring injuries simply due to the fact that he's best served down in GR where he'll get a ton of playing time. Ignoring the top two lines: Cleary-Drapes-Sammy Hudler-Kopecky/Helm-Maltby/DMac/Downey I do expect Maltby to sit (healthy scratch) against tougher teams. Edit: Addition

Keep in mind I was assuming Kopecky wouldn't be ready for the start of the season. When he's healthy, I fully expect Babs to play him over either DMac or Downey.

I don't....I think it'll be either Downey or Mac...or a combination of the two of them.

What does Z being > Forsberg have anything to do with bringing him in at the deadline as a FA given the cap situation the Wings were in last season? Nobody's arguing the Forsberg is > than Z.

Good Call Garth.....Nolan was definitely the "problem" with that organization.

I was one of those that wanted him at the deadline but that was due to the fact that the Wings had the Cap room at the deadline to acquire him and it couldn't have hurt the Wings had he gone down. The fact of the matter is that Forsberg is a bonafide playoff performer and if you could add him to your lineup without losing anyone in return and still keep your team under the cap for the season, it makes plenty of sense to do it. If he goes down, then you're in the same situation you were in before.

Gotcha.....and I would agree this move seems to be nothing short of a Cap-hit reducer to help sign potential future stars such as Stamkos and others without running into Cap problems. That being said, I would figure TB would have zero problems with the cap seeing as that they plan on icing only 1 defenseman this coming season.

At one point they did put Gatorade in the Cup, didn't they? From all the reports I read, they stated that Mac drank Gatorade all night in the locker room. While I can't confirm that he drank it out of the Cup, I do remember hearing somewhere that they emptied the Cup, filled it with Gatorade and Mac drank from it. As DKM said, most alcoholics would prefer you to not act differently around them when it comes to drinking. My family member asks us to drink what we want without calling attention to it. Nothing bothers him more than when another member of my family asks if its ok that they are drinking around him.

QFT at this point. TBH, there is nothing to indicate that he will be better or outplay Conkblock before October 9th, and barring perfect health from our Oz and Ty he'll be in GR the whole season. If one of the two gets hurt he'll gets some games here and there.
