I totally misunderstood your post. I thought you were saying Nick bickered to Kenny about his pay. I didn't realize you were talking about LGW. I'm in total agreement with you.

I know this reply was directed at swedishconnection, but I have some thoughts. The problem with taking an incentive-laden contract is that Lids likely hits all them anyway, unless Kenny an Co. made them outrageous, which in that case...why would Lids even accept them. As for taking a paycut, Lids took one last year likely not only to help his team bring in more talent, but also given his poor showing based on his standard of play. Now, even though he again played Norris caliber hockey this year, I still think he'll take a modest cut (I.E. $5.75-$6M), which is all any of us should even expect and most certainly something for which we should be thankful, not something he should be criticized for if he doesn't (not directed at you SwedeLundin77).

Boston killed me. I had Van in 7 and had they won, I likely would've moved up from 5th to somewhere like 3rd. Instead I had to settle for 9th. Not too shabby though. I'm glad everyone enjoyed the game.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the game, here's how it works: Each round you will pick a winner for each series. For every correct series winner you predict, you will receive 4 points for the first round matchups, 8 for the 2nd, 12 for the 3rd, and 16 for the Finals (0 if you pick the incorrect team, 3 points if you picked a 4-3 series and the other team won in 7 games). Also, to aid with tiebreakers you will pick how many games the losing team in each series will win. Given that the team you picked to win actually does win the series, you will then have the opportunity to receive up to 3 bonus points. For every game you are off for the losing teams actual win total, I will subtract 1 bonus point. Completely agree. I will say the one thing we have on our side is the fact that he's in a contract year. Couple that with having a year under his belt since his return from the KHL and we "should" see a much more consistent season out of him. If not, it'll be the easiest decision Holland will ever have to make come the 2012 off-season.

No worries, I was just curious given that's a big factor in that potential swap. I'm so unsettled on what to do about Hudler. Holland's M.O. since the the lockout has continued to be lock up your core, not overpay for your role-players and continue to let prospects reach their maturity level before coming up from GR. Obviously it's worked brilliantly and while Holland hasn't made any glaring mistakes, Hudler (for his arbitration amount) isn't really considered a steal based on his production. There's no doubt the guy can do some great things, but guys making $1.75-$2 can typically do about the same. Not everything, but perhaps not enough to warrant the difference in a cap-crunch situation.

Jesus sk, the way you're arguing you'd think I was stating that this is going to propel the Panthers into being the number 1 franchise in all of sports. For the love of God, that's not what I said/meant. Simply put, if the franchise does do something incredibly new and bold, it may create a spark which is all I've said all along.
