As a player, no. If the Wings had won the Cup in 05/06 it would've been a different story.

Babs may love him, but if he was better than Lilja *at this point* he would've been playing in the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, Ericsson is a beast and should be ready to go with number 6 minutes next year, but having enough depth is always a better than not having enough. TBH, I'd like to see both Lilja and Ericcson get some playing time next year, but I don't think Lilja will be happy with that given that he feels he's an every day guy. He was pretty upset earlier in the year when he was getting benched for multiple games in a row, and something tells me with the amount of young depth waiting in the Wings (no pun intended), he'll move on. Personally, for the right price, I'd like to see him stay. The guy is a great shot-blocker, and is defensively responsible. Yes, he does shy away from physical contact too much, but after all he is a number 6 Dman who shouldn't be on the ice when it mattters the most anyway.

TBH, I have no idea how many people it would require to fill the streets where the festivities took place, but I will say it looked like it was absolutely packed! While I would love to know how many people attended out of sheer curiosity, I don't think anyone can make a real accurate assumption, only an estimate. That being said......Gold Jacket, Green Jacket, who gives a s***? The point is the turnout was great and everyone had a great time. You heard it from BRTD first! I highly doubt it, but nothing official has been announced yet. For those making roster predictions that don't include Sammy, you're kidding yourselves. He's locked in through next season, and despite how streaky he is on offense, he's very defensively responsible. I get as annoyed with him as anyone, but a guy that trailed only Z and Dats amongst forwards in the +/- category isn't the worst to have around.

Agreed, and thats what I meant by my original comment. To piggy-back on to what you were saying, he just didn't seem to be seeing the puck well as the year winded down. It's no knock on him, but that's just what will end up happening when playing the game at that level for so long.
