One month is nothing compared to how long it took the 97, 98 and 02 videos to come out. They were something like 2-3 months. I'll gladly take a single month as opposed to the wait we used to have. That being said, I do wish I could watch it today already!

That number still just boggles my mind. Think about that for a second and put it into perspective. Holy Hell!
-
Incorrect. It's 1 Finals game. Had Mac not played in Games 1 & 4 of the Finals, the team would've had to petition to get his name on the Cup.

I'm not bitching, but I do agree with some that he didn't seem as enthused as we've seen him in the past. He seemed thrilled to give it to the Wings in '97. That being said, I also don't believe that he would've been all gushy had the Pens won.
-
As I originally posted, its 41...which is half the regular season.
-
TBH, Bettman didn't seem to happy to be presenting the Cup to Detroit. Oh well, tough s***. Ooh, I think you're asking for it with this statement.

As great as Oz was, I think they made the right decision giving it to Hank. Don't get me wrong, I would've had no problem with Oz getting it, as I feel he would probably be "number 2 in votes", but I think Hank is definintely the Conn Smythe winner. Lids is right there with those two as well.

For my wife, who 8 years ago didn't know the Red Wings existed and now was ready to cry when were driving home from Detroit Tuesday morning. She was happy the Wings won it in 2002, but she wasn't really a fan at that point. Now, she loves this team like non-other.

His weird sense of humor is beyond hilarious!

Both are included and will get their names on the Cup. Kopecky: 77 Games Downey: 56 Games
-
Correct, he played 32 games. I wouldn't mind the Wings petitioning to get his name on the Cup as well. Probably just as deserving as Hartigan.
-
As long as they're heroes without the Cup, that's all I care about. Whatever makes the hockey world feel better, I guess. I just care that the Wings are the Stanley Cup Champs. Also, I'm beyond intrigued to learn what was going on with Franzen (a little nervous, too).

TBH, I wouldn't put any of those you listed on the Cup. Hartigan is the only one that I believe deserves any type of consideration, especially since he took Filppula's spot in all the practices due to Val's injury. For me, there's gotta be more than just playing a couple games during the season to warrant getting your name on the Cup IMO. Not to sound like an ass, but I hold that trophy in the highest regard. Sidenote: I believe you need to have played 41 games in the regular season or one game in the Finals to get your name on the Cup.

Welcome to the boards, and here's hoping your S/N becomes as silly at this time next year as mine did at the trade deadline.

It's also the best way to never see the perseverance or the best in people. Has anyone close to you ever had an addiction? If not, you really have no idea what you are talking about.

Sorry, but Shanny leaving was one of the things that symbolized the new direction the Wings were going. Had he stayed around, and the team continued to play the way they used to, the Wings probably wouldn't have won the Cup. Thanks for everything Shanny, but it worked out in the Wings favor that he left.

Sundin may test free agency; wants big money
NeverForgetMac25 replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
I'm sorry, but this just wreaks of stupidity. Sundin wants to win a Cup, and moreso than anything with the Leafs. We all know that he is above being a rental player at the deadline, but we've yet to see whether or not he'll try to win a Cup by signing an FA contract this summer with a contender (no offense Toronto, but you're not a contender next year). Ok, so all those things factored in, lets say Sundin decides to sign with a potential contender this offseason. You would think he'd take as big of a paycut as he reasonable could given the fact that all he wants (given that he came to terms with leaving the Leafs) is the Cup. What the hell sense does it make for him to be looking for this monster contract when all it will do is hinder his new team from adding other solid FA's and thus decreasing his chance of winning a Cup? -
http://www.mlive.com/forums/redwings/index.ssf According to a member by the name of "costes", Homer should've been given a penalty last night following the game. What penalty you ask....costes says "too close to the crease while holding the cup." :rotflmao: Way to go Homer, and for continuing to go right back to the net!

If you don't have any of the other three in the past, they're an absolute must-have for any Wings fan. I can't tell you how well put-together they are and how many times I've watched each and every one of them. The best thing to buy is actually the box set entitled "Detroit Red Wings: A Celebration of Champions". Included are all three of the 97, 98 and 02 videos, the history of the team, and 5 of the most memorable games in recent history as picked by the fans. The games included Stevie Y's 2OT Game 7 winner, March 7th against the Avs in1997, Game 4 against the Flyers, Game 7 against the Avs in 2002, and Game 3 of the '02 Finals, IIRC. All must-haves!

Your most memorable 2008 Playoff moment?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to blues_demitra38's topic in General
If we're not talking about the moment the buzzer hit last night, than it was Z's turn-around goal in the Colorado series. -
Just as you say that, I go and change it. I find this to be more fitting and relevant today. As I always preach, its all about the team, not individuals.

Depending on how you look at it. I was at Game 5 Monday night.
