A little deep in this thread, but.... This site has become a mainstay for me. I don't know what I'd do without it.

As some have mentioned, I just don't see him coming back. At this point in his career, he really has no reason to given the wear and tear his body has been through and now having won the elusive Cup. Thanks Drake, your efforts were huge!

You tell me. I can't exactly remember which Pens fans were laughing (though I don't think it was you) and belittling that idea, but some found it to be totally irrelevant. Clearly its one of the most important things. That being said, it is about congrats to the current champs, and I appreciate the thoughts!

So basically, next year in the first round Lids needs to focus all his energy on firing shots from the red line. They won two of their four Cups with him without a mid-ice shot. Nice coincidence this year though.

It's cool that you came back, and this will end up being a huge learning experience for the Penguins. This is why Red Wings fan constantly preach how important experience when fans of younger teams laugh at it. It showed just how huge it was this series, and the Pens will be better going forward for what they've learned.

I'm really not sure how to feel about this Cup, simply because of how heart-broken I was leaving Detroit Tuesday morning. For some horrible reason it has put somewhat of a damper on me for this Cup. That being said, with each passing minute since the end of the game last night, I've felt better and better, and I'm starting to just enjoy the Cup victory. The stink of it is if I had not been to the game on Monday night, I probably wouldn't have let it drag me down as much as I did. No worries though, as I said, it continues to get easier each minute and I'm starting to really enjoy it. Congrats 2008 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings!

A ton of that willl depend on their offseason given the frightening amount of UFA's they have. A more fitting question would've been, "Can the Red Wings repeat next year?"

I always found it humorous when other teams (and their fans) didn't respect Ozzie only to feel stupid when the series concluded and their "all-star" goalie was outplayed. Gofigure.

While Fedorov would've been nice, its now nice that he wasn't brought in simply because now each and every young Wings player know what it takes to win the Cup and will have that knowledge going forward. Feds already had that, and now the Wings will be stronger next year for it.

If the Wings don't win tonight, that's honestly, 100% not going to be the reason why. They are a veteran bunch who knows how to put this stuff past them. Probably the most important vet in the bunch tonight (Ozzie) is better than anyone at that. The Wings will use that anger as fuel, not a hindrance.

I'll go with 40-19 in SOG category.

I just saw that interview for the first time, and Babs just continues to impress me more and more each day. That guy is incredible.

Not that my pain is worse than others, but imagine how I felt driving 9 hours to get to Detroit, and being 34.6 seconds away from witnessing the Wings win the Stanley Cup only to have it pulled out from under you and then losing 3 OT's later. Sick doesn't come close to describing how Shelly and I felt (and still do at the time). Sidenote: We're home now, as we arrived early last night.
