Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't waiting until right after the playoffs conclude be a better start time? I know I'm 100% focused on the Wings run right now, and this site can get pretty quiet at times during the offseason. I'd love to have yet another reason to look forward to coming on LGW during the offseason when the forums slow down a bit.

I'm one of those "if it isn't broke, don't try and fix it" type of guys, but I think Babs' reasoning for taking out Mac was that Dallas is more of a "skill" team that doesn't deliver dirty hits. That, and the balance of the Stars offense is probably what prompted Babs to make the change given that now you have a shutdown great shutdown line, with three lines that could put the puck in the net. I'm totally blanking right now for some unknown reason, but I can't remember if the fourth line rolled Hudler-Helm-Drake with the third line rocking Cleary-Draper-Maltby. I believe thats what the lines looked like.....was that right?

If the Stars are going to allow the Wings to set up shop in front of Turco the way they did last night, Turco will have to play the best hockey he has ever played. The Stars talked about clearing the front of the net so Turco can see the puck, and they didn't do it for sh*t last night. I was really surprised to be honest with you. That being said, look for them to try harder to key in on Homer and Franzen in front of the net and for Z-Dats and Fil-Sammy to come with the cross ice passes to one another if the Stars key too much on Homer and Franzen.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. That being said, if I'm reading the scoreboard correctly, this picture was taken no earlier than with 1:07 remaining in the second period given that Dallas has a goal listed under their name. This could very well be toward the very end of the third when people were filing out.....not that that's any excuse. Actually, the more I look at it, I would be willing to bet this pic was taken with less than 2 minutes in the game. The scoreboard shows a 1:** left on the clock, and I'm just assuming that was the third period.

The accident part is comparable but thats about it. Jiri worked hard and did everything he could to play in the NHL, where as Grigs decided to eat cheeseburgers and demand playing time. Not really an apples to apples comparison.

I can't remember who on Dallas broke Kronwall's sacrum last year. Am I correct to assume it was Lundqvist? That being said, I highly doubt Kronner holds a grudge. It was a good clean hit with an unfortunate result for the Wings. Just an unlucky result.

Oh well, he wouldn't have gotten the playing time he reportedly wanted so its probably best for both parties.
