Possibly something as simple as either player is able to be selfish in the absence of the other. Instead of realizing the talent sitting next to them when they're both playing, they take it upon themselves to take-over the game.

WCQF Game 3 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Coyotes 2

So Versus doesn't exist in Canada? Am I correct to assume the NHL has a contract with TSN in Canada (hence, where the USA Versus games would go along with being on Center Ice)? -

I gotta believe its on NBC, I know ill be watching it on CBC up here in Canada. They have seemed to carry every other game. Blaayze, the game will not be on NBC. Those are only weekend games and Games 3-7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. dcd, this is one of those games where we hope and pray the game before us on Versus (which is the channel it'll be on *exclusively*) ends before the start time of our game. PHI/BUF starts at 7:00 ET and DET/PHX begins 3.5 hours later. As long as the PHI/BUF game doesn't go deep and past the first OT or longer, those with Versus will be able to see the Wings game in entirety. Those without Versus (in the USA atleast) are gonna be S.O.L. If the game does go past the first OT, we can only expect live look-ins until the game concludes. Scary s*** for any non-local Wings fan. -
Not until the Wings atleast lose a game. In the playoffs Babs is known for not tinkering with a lineup that's just come off a win.

He's the reason I got into hockey and the Red Wings. No one will ever live up to him as long as I live. Hero!

Obviously not a great number, but keep in mind last year was the first series they weren't the higher seed in many years, meaning those game 3's were on the road. Not necessarily the easiest of situations and its not like Detroit is playing chopped liver. It is the playoffs. -
I remember reading this article last year and my response is no different. Asking Red Wings fans to put aside their allegiance for the supposed sake of helping a fan-base look less pathetic is dumb as s***. This moron should never have been allowed to post such utter garbage. Sidenote: Those who've been around the past 6 years know I don't go off in my posts unless I feel uber-strong about it. This is one of those cases.

Al was told he can no longer spin the octapus on the ice, which he no longer does. The second he hits the walkway (which is allowed), he lets loose.

That's awesome! I'd definitely drop $1,000 to own a share/portion-of-a-share of the Red Wings.
-
More so than anything, I'm just thrilled the supposed long-end of the timetable is 2 more weeks. I was seriously concerned about a more lingering injury that would shelve Z until the middle of the playoffs or later. Great news!

Meaning what....if you have auto insurance they'll cut you a break on tickets? That can't seriously be true, is it?

Show's how often I visit the WC, given the lateness of this reply. The sad part is, I have a million pictures with Kate in her Wings bib yet they're all on our laptop at home. I'll get some up soon. Until then....an entranced Kate watches the game:

WCQF Game 1 GDT: Coyotes 2 at Red Wings 4

I was at Game 5 of the finals both in '08 and '09. I know they did the fire in '08 and I want to say they had it in '09 as well, but I could be wrong. -
Welcome to year 5 of the Playoff Picks Game. Past Champions List 2007: zetterisbetter 2008: winsgnut_19 2009: Chunkylover 2010: Batigol2k 2011: *Insert Your Name Here* The format this year is the same as last, so please to make sure you fully understand the rules below before making your picks. For those of you that aren't familiar with the game, here's how it works: Each round you will pick a winner for each series. For every correct series winner you predict, you will receive 4 points for the first round matchups, 8 for the 2nd, 12 for the 3rd, and 16 for the Finals (0 if you pick the incorrect team, 3 points if you picked a 4-3 series and the other team won in 7 games). Also, to aid with tiebreakers you will pick how many games the losing team in each series will win. Given that the team you picked to win actually does win the series, you will then have the opportunity to receive up to 3 bonus points. For every game you are off for the losing teams actual win total, I will subtract 1 bonus point. After each round, every player will then re-pick again based on the teams that made it through to the next round. Whoever has the most points at the end of the season, wins Playoff bragging rights. As was mentioned earlier, if you pick a series to go to the 7th game and the series does but the team you picked ends up losing, you will receive 3 points rather than 0. Lastly, pick who you feel will represent each conference in the Stanley Cup Finals as well as the Champion. This will be worth 3 points per pick if you're correct. Best of luck to everyone! If any of your are confused, here's a mock Picks example: (1) Vancouver 4-2 over (8) Chicago (2) San Jose 4-2 over (7) Los Angeles (3) Detroit 4-1 over (6) Phoenix (4) Anaheim 4-3 over (5) Nashville (1) Washington 4-0 over (8) New York Rangers (7) Buffalo 4-3 over (2) Philadelphia (3) Boston 4-1 over (6) Montreal (5) Tampa Bay 4-3 over (4) Pittsburgh WC Champion: Detroit Red Wings EC Champion: Tampa Bay Lightning SC Champion: Detroit Red Wings Let's say this happened in the first round: (1) Vancouver won 4-1 over (8) Chicago (7) Los Angeles won 4-3 over (2) San Jose (3) Detroit won 4-1 over (6) Phoenix (5) Nashville won 4-3 over (4) Anaheim (1) Washington won 4-1 over (8) New York Rangers (2) Philadelphia won 4-2 over (7) Buffalo (6) Boston won 4-3 over (3) Montreal (5) Tampa Bay won 4-0 over (4) Pittsburgh Here's how my point total would work out: VAN/CHI = 4 Points + 2 Bonus Points SJS/LAK = 0 Points DET/PHX = 4 Points + 3 Bonus Points ANA/NSH = 3 Points WAS/NYR = 4 Points + 2 Bonus Points PHI/BUF = 0 Points BUF/BOS = 4 Points + 1 Bonus Points PIT/TBL= 4 Points Total first round score: 31 Feel free to post any questions, and remember that your Picks must be in *before* the first puck drops Wednesday at 7:00 ET. Here are the Matchups based on their respective ranks: WEST: (1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (8) Chicago Blackhawks (2) San Jose Sharks vs. (7) Los Angeles Kings (3) Detroit Red Wings vs. (6) Phoenix Coyotes (4) Anaheim Ducks vs. (5) Nashville Predators EAST: (1) Washington Capitals vs. (8) New York Rangers (2) Philadelphia Flyers vs. (7) Buffalo Sabres (3) Boston Bruins vs. (6) Montreal Canadiens (4) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (5) Tampa Bay Lightning NOTE: Please copy and paste the following template when making your picks. This truly cuts down on the time it requires to tally up scores and I greatly appreciate it. Bold the team you're picking to win, and then write the series score directly after in this manner: -- VAN/CHI 4-1 Round 1 Template: ________________________________ VAN/CHI: 4- SJS/: 4- DET/: 4- /NSH: 4- WAS/: 4- PHI/BUF: 4- BOS/MTL: 4- PIT/TBL: 4- WC Champion: EC Champion: SCF Champion:

Picks are due in a little more than an hour. 104 Participants so far!
-
I so wish Detroit was closer to Green Bay.
-
VAN/CHI: 4-2 SJS/LAK: 4-1 DET/PHX: 4-2 ANA/NSH: 4-3 WAS/NYR: 4-1 PHI/BUF: 4-3 BOS/MTL: 4-2 PIT/TBL: 4-1 WC Champion: Detroit Red Wings EC Champion: Pittsburgh Penguins SCF Champion: Detroit Red Wings So homeristic, but I just can't pick against this team with the potential they have. If they play up to it, no one in the league can skate with them. The East is so damn wide-open, its borderline ridiculous.

The JIP for the NYR/WSH game will be *after* the Wings game is completed. They're not going to cut away from the Wings-Yotes 30 minutes in. Essentially, its bonus coverage for the remainder of the NYR/WSH game for those that don't have center ice. Just one of the many reasons I buy Center Ice every season.

Thanks again for putting forth all the work this game takes kook!

Atleast with Turco the failure didn't come *before* the playoffs.

Cheers
