Yeah, it looks like the last few people have started posting it differently.....you included.

Let me get this straight....if you say "one" Original 6 team in the SCF's you're banking on the Red Wings losing before even making it that far. Based on your picks if MON plays NYR in the ECF's, that would mean that no matter what an Original 6 team will make the SCF's regardless of what Detroit does. Maybe its time to rethink that comment.

Yeah, I touched on this in the GDT last night. AO absolutely made the right play.....hindsight's 20/20 for guys like Melrose. If Feds had buried that all we'd be hearing about is how unselfish and how smart of a play it was by AO. Edit: (Kelsey) Grammar

C'mon Dave! Pay attention! There's a template on the initial post for a reason.
-
I haven't looked at the old thread yet, but did you post picks for the first round? I'm not seeing you on the list.
-
Jose should be so happy that he's considered "sweepstakes". If Huet walks, Theodore to Washington makes a ton of sense.
-
But like you said, that should come back full circle if the players on your "team" keep moving on. That being said, I never understood why pools like yours didn't give bonus points to individual players for ending a series early. It can't be that hard to figure out something that would work, and hence compensate for that situation.

Good question...I'll have to do some research. Similarly to that, 2 seasons ago the 1,2,3 & 4 seeds moved on in the East while the 5,6,7 & 8 seeds moved on in the West. I'd be very willing to bet that's never happened before.

As always, picks are due before the first puck drop of the first game of each round.

Thanks so much to everyone thus far for following the template I posted!

Great news. Until I'm able to get CI games or Versus for that matter in HD, I'm fine watching it on NBC. Their HD feed is really good. Plus, its more exposure which apparently is important to a lot of people around here.

I don't know if worried is the right word, but anyone that overlooks Colorado is mistaken IMO. Any team in the playoffs is there for a reason, and regardless of what happened in the regular season, things can change quite quickly. That being said, I do like the Wings chances though and feel that if they play their game they'll be fine.

DET/COL: 4-1 SJ/DAL: 4-3 MON/PHI: 4-1 PIT/NYR: 4-2

** NOTICE ** Please do NOT post your picks in this thread. I will post a new one shortly, which include the format I would like everyone to use when submitting their picks. Thanks in advance everyone.

Welcome to year 2 of the Playoff Picks Game. Mods, if you deem this as worthy, I would really appreciate you pinning this thread. Here's how it'll work: Each round you will pick a winner for each series. For every correct series winner you predict, you will receive 5 points (0 if you pick the incorrect team). Also to aid with tiebreakers you will also pick how many games the losing team in each series will win. Given that the team you picked to win actually does win the series, you will then have the opportunity to receive up to 3 bonus points. For every game you are off for the losing teams actual win total, I will subtract 1 bonus point. After each round, every player will then pick again based on the teams that made through to the next round. Whoever has the most points at the end of the season, wins Playoff bragging rights. If any of your are confused, I'll do a mock picks example: NFM#25's Mock Picks (1) Detroit 4-1 over (8) Nashville (2) San Jose 4-3 over (7)Calgary (6) Colorado 4-3 over (3) Minnesota (4) Anaheim 4-2 over (5) Dallas (1) Montreal 4-1 over (8) Boston (2) Pittsburgh 4-3 over (7) Ottawa (3) Washington 4-2 over (6) Philadelphia (4) New Jersey 4-3 over (5) New York Rangers Let's say this happened in the first round: (1) Detroit won 4-2 over (8) Nashville (2) San Jose won 4-1 over (7)Calgary (3) Minnesota won 4-3 over (6) Colorado (4) Anaheim won 4-2 over (5) Dallas (1) Montreal won 4-3 over (8) Boston (2) Pittsburgh won 4-0 over (7) Ottawa (3) Washington won 4-2 over (6) Philadelphia (5) New York Rangers won 4-3 over (4) New Jersey Here's how my point total would work out: DET/NSH = 5 Points + 2 Bonus Points SJ/CAL = 5 Points + 1 Bonus Point MIN/COL = 0 Points ANA/DAL = 5 Points + 3 Bonus Points MTL/BOS = 5 Points + 1 Bonus Points PIT/OTT = 5 Points + 0 Bonus Points WSH/PHI = 5 Points + 3 Bonus Points NYR/NJ = 0 Points Total first round score: 40 Feel free to post any questions, and remember that your picks must be in *before* the first puck drops Wednesday at 7:00 ET. Best of luck to everyone, and I'll post my picks shortly. Here are the Matchups based on their respective ranks WEST: (1) Detroit vs. (8) Nashville (2) San Jose vs. (7) Calgary (3) Minnesota vs. (6) Colorado (4) Anaheim vs. (5) Dallas EAST: (1) Montreal vs. (8) Boston (2) Pittsburgh vs. (7) Ottawa (3) Washington vs. (6) Philadelphia (4) New Jersey vs. (5) New York Rangers

Sounds like thats the start time.....plus 10 minutes or so. I would think the opening faceoff would be somewhere around 6:40'ish CT, or 7:40 ET.

Wings/Avs 6:30 Thursday night!

Is this for sure JR's last season?
-
Really, I think its terrible. Then again, I've always thought their logo was lame.
-
Yeah, but that's like saying, "I thought I knew better than my 5-year old sister....or ESPN."
-
Hello Colorado.

Is anyone no longer worried about SJ since they haven't even scored on the EN in over 2+ minutes?
