It's no secret the Wings are struggling with a good deal of "nagging" injuries. Maltby is more than likely out for the first round, with Homer, Drapes, Stuart and Sammy coming back for the last game/done for the regular season. There's is absolutely nothing to prove/gain from Sunday's game, and you know the Wings are going to be playing a pissed-off Chicago team that just got eliminated from playoff contention last night. So what do you do? Which players do you bench on Sunday? NFM#25's scratches: Lidstrom Zetterberg Dats (although it would be great to see him play and light up Khabi the way he always does and possibly hit the 100 point plateau) Franzen One of Kronwall or Rafalski Unfortunately with the amount of guys already missing it'll look like the Giffins roster if the Wings sit a handful of players. That being said, I'm glad Homer is playing because he needs this game to get back to the feel/speed of things before Thursday. Your scratches?

Fair enough.....bottom line though, would you have rather stayed at home last night or gone to the Joe regardless of the quality of the game? Anytime you lose a player it hurts, especially with the depth required to make a deep playoff run. Here's hoping the rest of the boys can stay healthy.

Regardless, my point was that the Caps do not hold their destiny in their own hands. If Philly puts up 2 wins in their final two games regardless of what Washington does tomorrow, they are out given a couple other factors out of Washington's hands. BTW, I wasn't arguing that the game wasn't boring, I was just saying that things could be worse in life. You got to go to a Wings game free, the Wings won (although they didn't play well) and clinched the President's trophy. My argument was that going to see a live Wings game (for free) in which they won and clinched the President's trophy, is better than sitting at home and watching the game on CI. All I'm saying is there isn't much to complain about. That would be like me saying, "Yeah, I found a $100 bill on the ground last night (wish it would've been $1,000), my wife cleaned the whole house last night so I didn't have to do anything and all the traffic lights turned from red to green on my way home from work. Never once did I make it out to be the make it or break it in a series. what I did say and any player in their right-mind will tell is that if it comes down a game 7, you can be d*mn sure they'll want to play it in their own barn. As I said, does home-ice advantage mean they are going to win: of course not. Would they rather have home-ice advantage against any team in the playoffs: of course.

You do realize that the TB game was last night, and the Caps won it 4-1. They are now tied with Carolina at 92 points, but don't hold the tiebreaker. On top of that, their playoff destiny at this point does not lie in their hands as Philly has a game in hand and are only 1 point behind Washington.

Whats crazy to think about is that a few days ago Washington was out of the playoffs, now they're an 8 seed about to face the top seed in the east, yet have the potential to be a 3 seed with home ice advantage playing an "underdog" 6 seed next week. I think WTF sums it up perfectly.

I like giving Cleary one more game. With the amount of time he missed, I think Babs should play him with limited TOI.

Agreed....SJ playing Nashville would likely be a sweep, while Calgary has the potential to give SJ headaches....especially with Kippur in net. I never like to pick my poison but lets just say if I had to pick between Calgary and Nashville, I'd choose whichever team required less travel, didn't have as good of a goaltender and doesn't have as much balance.......whichever team that may be.

Awesome parade rain! The Wings lock up home ice advantage throughout, you got to witness the presidents trophy clinching game, get free tickets and aren't pleased. Life's tough.
