You just lost this argument, but I'll humor your other points. Also, its pretty hard to be considered as wearing rose-colored glasses when Favre has the accolades that he does. So did Favre, and that was after he had already won a Superbowl...or didn't you notice his last season under McCarthy? God forbid, he wasn't sure about his future? Favre played college ball like every other pro football player is required to before joining the NFL. Add 4 years to his number and you've got 21 seasons compared to 22. In hockey you're allowed to go straight to the NHL (hence the jump Stevie got), where as you can't do that in the NFL. Which is one of the most incredible stats espeically for a QB. If you don't pay attention to what Favre does outside of football, you might want to hold back from using it as a reason for why Favre shouldn't be considered with Yzerman. Lastly, this is pathetic that I'm arguing for Favre against my favorite athlete of all time, but your baseless arguments irritated me so much, that I had to chime in.

That's tough because its more of a matter of what each person finds to be the criteria for the greatest QB of all time. Is it Superbowls, because than Favre isn't close to Brady or Montana. Is it stats, plus having atleast one ring, because than no one compares to Favre (yet). Brady has a great shot of catching Favre simply because he's talented and he always has a solid supporting cast. If he can catch Favre's records, than it'll be hard to argue he's not the best ever. Right now though, I give the nod to Favre simply based on his records and the fact that he's got a ring.

Keep in mind that Stuart probably won't re-sign with Detroit, meaning the Wings only have Lids, Raf, Kronwall and Lebda locked in for next year. That leaves two spots open and possibly 3 depending on Lebda's play from here on out. There is nothing wrong with Lilja in the 5-6 role, especially for $1 million or less.
