No, more teams won't be in the mix because the majority of them will have already made their deals. Right now, we have more buyers than sellers but the closer we get to the deadline the more sellers there are than buyers. Again, I don't see any big Tkachuk type of mistakes this year but there's still going to be plenty of people on the move. If Feds' "price tag" that *you* mentioned isn't met (which I don't think it will be) it will favor the team that waits the others out and makes a late deal.

No I didn't forget, but seeing how well that worked out for Atlanta and the Matthias deal, I don't expect to see as many crazy deals as we have in the past few years. That's not entirely true either. The closer we get to the deadline the more teams have made their deals and have thus bowed out of some others. The longer you wait (and I mean up until the last couple hours) the better your chances are of landing someone for a minimal return.

That I would agree with, if that is *truthfully* what they are trying to get for him. I don't see many teams pulling the trigger on that type of a deal though. As a result, the asking price should come down the closer we get to the deadline.

I think the Toronto Sun used a nice rounded up number for Fedorov. If the Wings picked him up on the day of the deadline, I've got him costing roughly $1.283 million for the remainder of the season.

I've got to admit I'm getting intrigued by the idea of Fedeorov given the right price. I don't see him costing the Wings an arm and a leg non-monetarily wise, and Fedorov does fill a few different needs. He'd be huge on the second PP unit in replacing Samuelsson. He has one hell of a shot from the blue line and if the Wings brought him back they may be able to get away with bringing in a bruiser Dman that won't brake the bank (ala Blake). Also, Fedorov brings balance to the offensive second line and is a proven playoff goal scorer. As I said before, given the right price, I guess I'd take Fedorov back seeing the potential holes he could fill.

Exactly. I think the big reason he has such a high goal total is due to the poor team he plays on. If you throw him on a team with offensive balance his numbers would drop. It's no knock on AO, as the guy is a phenomenal talent but I feel it would take away from his total.

I think Inultus meant to write "had" instead of "has". Forsberg scored 2 goals and 13 assists in 17 games with Nashville last year.

I suppose I didn't help keep this thread from derailing but to help put it back on the right direction, I was quite pleased with Jimmy's play last night. I thought he looked calm and collective the entire time and moved laterally with ease. Thank god he doesn't suck like Dom or Ozzie!
