    1/19 GDT: Red Wings 6, Sharks 3

Not only that, when the Wings are off their forechecking timing is off. It's almost like they're delayed, thus giving the other team an easy opportunity to move the puck. Thankfully, there's been none of that tonight thus far.

It didn't seem loaded at all. It was just another teams PbP guys making that comment about Cheli. It's almost like tradition the way some people want to watch a game in every NHL barn, its just something like the 27th of 30 team announcers to make the comment.

Wow, it took less than 2 minutes for the SJ announcers to call Chelios Grandpa.............a new record.

Nicely done 96Homer! This is a great pick for the father-son road trip. 2 very tough opponents with a back-to-back to boot.

    2007 Green Bay Packers Thread

Unfortunately.....I'm not, but I've got friends coming my way for the game, and just being/watching the game in Green Bay is part of the experience (or so I keep telling myself).

timothy1997, I think you meant to quote dallas27 rather than jaytan. On top of that, not only would the hotel accommodations be terrible, they flat out couldn't do it. People that don't have tickets to the game go to the city the Superbowl takes place in regardless. Green Bay and its surrounding cities couldn't handle all the visitors that would flood to the area. With surrounding cities, Green Bay only has around 300,000 people. Until it grows to atleast double that it just wouldn't work. Even though I love living in Green Bay, thats the honest truth. However all things outside the stadium aside, inside Lambeau Field you'd have the best (most legendary) atmosphere in the history of the Superbowl.

    2007-2008 NFL Playoff Thread

You've got some serious F*ckin' issues jaytan, not to mention a ton of anger. I can understanding people not "liking" Favre because he continuously beats their team, but you seem to hate him and for no good reason whatsoever. Timothy1997 "hates" Favre because he always beats the Lions, but he respects him and recognizes the guy is one of (if not the) best to ever play. So, let me ask....is the rest of the country (aside from you) dumb to root for a guy that holds all the major records for QB, has been honest with the public/media, and doesn't dress up like a d*mn cliche? There are hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world that love him for being salt of the earth. You don't see him all "blinged" out. You call him a hick....the guy is from Mississippi, not the midwest. He's the definition of real and the NFL could use a hell of lot more people like him rather than more guys like Moss or T.O. Get over it.

Wings must adjust to keep fan base alive

Not to nitpick Loo, but didn't the Sabres practically go bankrupt during the Hasek days, thus causing the league to take control of the team? I won't argue that he put butts in the seats and kept the team afloat as long as he did, but correct me if I'm wrong.

    Rafalski?

Lids and Raf are partnered together more often than not......in fact, the majority of the time whether its a PP or not.

Blake pining to become a Wing?

Probably Blake unless Hossa agrees to a long term deal before the move. I think Kenny is going to put defense first this deadline and then depth at offense (or Foresberg). Why do people keep baiting me? You'd think sirdrake started the thread.

Blake pining to become a Wing?

No worries, I'll reserve those posts for the "Other Sports" Forum. I don't think that's true. I can understand why the thread was started, but I don't necessarily agree with it wholeheartedly. When you pay a guy $6 mil per for 5 years (which is close to Lids money), you unfairly expect perfection because you witness it every night in Lids. Sure, people are unfair when Rafalski makes a turnover or two (everyone does from time to time--unless your name is Lidstrom ) but Raf has been a hair off with some ill-advised turnovers more so than any of his previous seasons in New Jersey. That being said, aside from the turnovers he's been rock solid defensively. You don't notice him as much because he makes smart decisions all the time that seem routine. Then all of a sudden a turnover takes place, and that's all people think about.

    Rafalski?

I'm not so worried about Rafalski. The guy is a solid D-man with great offensive potential, but for some reason is just a little off right now. Schneider was at best a mediocore D-man with great offensive potential.......I'll take Rafalski. Besides, you gotta think Raf has opened his game up being partnered with Lids. He knows he's got the best defenseman in the world covering him so he probably takes more chances than he would if he was partnered with Kronwall or Lebda.

Blake pining to become a Wing?

That being said, Blake would be a huge addition. Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Blake Chelios-Lilja/Lebda Good God that's scary.

Nash puts the puck on a string

Very Datsyukian, and yes that was probably the best goal I've seen this season.

    2007 Green Bay Packers Thread

Honestly, I'm so excited right now but just like I've been all season, I'm trying to keep my emotions in check. This has been an absolute dream season especially considering the sports "experts" at ESPN ranked the Pack at 27th to start the season. Grant is the definition of a diamond in the rough. Seriously.....a freakin' 6th round pick for what looks like our RB for the next 7-8 years. Funny how that sh*t works out. And then there's Brett. This guy is the definition of a winner, and I don't see how anyone outside of New York (and probably Minnesota & Chicago) could cheer against him. Sometimes the guy flat out makes watching the game more entertaining than playing it. To me, he's everything that's right in sports (basically the Packers version of Yzerman) with the grin of an 8-year old. Here's hoping our boys can come together and nab the victory this Sunday so Favre will have the opportunity to go out on top (not that he wouldn't go out on top regardless).
