It's utterly amazing to me that anyone could hate Favre regardless of what team their a fan of. A good example is Sakic......I hated the Avalanche but you can't hate Sakic, much like Avs fans never hated Yzerman. Sidenote: The whole spelling comment you always make is beyond a 3rd grade insult. That's not what I'm saying at all Eva, so let me explain using a guy like Ovechkin, for example. He is one of the premier scorers in the East and based one scoring he should represent the East. However, the All-Star game wouldn't mean anything to him aside from being competitive seeing as that the Caps are not going to make the playoffs. Again, I'm referring to players on playoff or potentially playoff teams versus ones that know their season is over in early April.

Agreed, and giving the game more meaning would make for a more entertaining affair. The problem with the home-ice-to-the-winner mindset is you still have teams like the Kings, Capitals and the Lightning with players who don't give a sh*t due to the fact that they now they're not going to the playoffs. So you got guys like Z, Iggy and Luongo working their assess off while Arnott blows his nose the entire game. That's the flaw in the home-ice advantage-to-the-winner theory.

I couldn't disagree any more. I think its a joke that the MLB does that and I would never be an advocate for it in the NHL. The All-Star game is such a joke and to let it play a *major* factor in the championship of your league is insane.

You know what though Loo, there are a lot of people in here that do. You may not believe in it, but you should respect the fact that others view it as hockey tradition to not use that word on gameday until it comes to fruition or its proven otherwise.

I can't argue with you there, but I did go a few rounds with Loo on the goalie debate. Silly NFM#25.

This team is lazy and they suck. Seriously, I couldn't be more excited with the way they've finished the first half. This team came out scary and never looked back. The top line was beyond dominant and no team in the league was able to shut them down. However, people started to question the secondary scoring, myself being one of them. Then all of a sudden around the quarter-season mark the secondary scoring took off. Then all of a sudden both Z and Homer were forced to take some time due to injury. I this may sound bad, but I believe those two injuries were blessings in disguise. Not only did our secondary scoring continue to pitch in, but it did so at a rate even greater than what they were contributing. That's a great sign for the playoff run. This team never ceases to amaze me, and I'm looking forward to the second half and post-season.
