Anyone that thought Lids shouldn't be making over $7 million per on his new contract was kidding themselves. This guy flat out deserves every penny of this new contract, and it won't affect Z's re-signing whatsoever. Within 2 years Lids went from making 19.49% (20% league maximum) of the team salary cap to whats probably going to be around 13.80% of the cap and all he's done in that time is win the Norris both of those years. It's a hometown discount no matter how you slice it and a great deal for both sides.

No suggestions.......that's exactly what I want Kenny and Co to do. Depth security on D (due to what happened last year) and a solid second-liner. Keep in mind that when Kenny says "second line offensemen" that *no one* will crack the top line of ZDH due to its chemistry. The Wings could add a Fedorov-type and the ZDH line will stay in tact.
