Now that would make entirely too much sense. That being said, you know the legalities and big wigs wouldn't make it that easy though seeing as that there is much more to it than just "letting" Center Ice carry their feeds.

:rotflmao: Just a funny post I thought any Packers fan would get a kick out of. Re-reading this thread today has been absolutely hilarious. Another classic! Holy s***.....its just too funny! Seriously, I can't stop!

This win coupled with the Cowboy loss are sure going to make things interesting these final two weeks, especially Week 17 given that Washington will most likely need the win that day. Unfortunately, the only downside is that McCarthy can't start resting players. Oh well, if it means home-field advantage throughout the playoffs its worth it. Plus, they already have the bye which will mean 13-14 days off, which should be enough time to get the bumps and bruises out.

Thanks for the thorough response Puckloo....its appreciated. As for the blue screen of death, I did hard boot the digital box and that worked the first time I had the problem. Since then however, it hasn't worked and I've tried hard booting a good handful of times. I'm in total agreement with you on the NHL Network pulling games. It pisses me off that you pay for something in good faith and they add something after the fact that pulls games you've already paid for. To top it off, NHLN always pulls the best games of the night, meaning bye-bye Red Wings! Thanks for your reply, but I really don't want Center Ice Online. I spent good money on a 44" Panasonic LCD HDTV a couple years ago and I enjoy watching the games on that rather than a computer screen. While I appreicated the advice, I just don't want to go the online route, when I could be watching it on a much bigger (and clearer) screen. That being said, I suppose I could always hook my computer up to my TV. That's always an option, but then again I'd rather not fuss around with it. At the end of the day, I just want to go home and watch the Wings with my wife.

I love that Draper tries to make getting those two back-to-back as important as something like back-to-back wins when your team is 3 points down in the standings in the latter part of March. Good stuff and thanks for posting.

A little early to be hitting the sauce....don't you think? Hilarious, nonetheless.

:nonono: And they think this will increase scoring? How in the hell is that going to happen if D-men aren't allowed to sneak up back door, especially on a power play. Not to mention think about how much this would change a 5-on-3 PP. No way the BOG or the league is so dumb that they would allow this to happen. Sidenote: Does this remind you of Bubble hockey in the fact that your players would only be able to move so far.

*You* may be disappointed but think about it realistically: Would 29 other teams (barring a cap problem) not be willing to pony up $6.5 million for the best defenseman in the game with a salary cap that continues to go up? $6.5 is not a fair number and I would hope Kenny and Co would tread lightly on this situation before throwing numbers like that out to your franchise defenseman and Captain. Don't get me wrong, I hear what you're saying but $7 million over the next 2 years would be fair for both parties given that 20% of the *current* cap is $10.06 million. Hell, 20% next year could be well over $11.00 million, and that would be a fair hometown discount in order to get Z signed long term. What people forget (and I'm not necessarily talking about you YoungGuns) is that taking a $600,000 paycut isn't merely $600,000 with the cap constantly on the rise.

Could a morbidly obese goalie shut out an NHL team?

I remember seeing a video that shows the actual filming that took place as a result of this book on Youtube a few months ago. I'm trying to find it but having no such luck just yet. I'll post it when I do. -
How Have I Never Seen This Patrick Roy Video?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to mmorland's topic in General
I remember that. Vintage Roy. -
I see it as a short leash. Even if Dom is the starter come the post-season, If I were Babs, I wouldn't hesitate to yank Dom if the Wings ever got down even 2 games (given that Ozzie continues his tear). Right now I feel better when Ozzie is in the net rather than Dom, and if Babs only cares about winning I would hope he wouldn't hesitate to throw Ozzie in (if he doesn't start the playoffs) and Dom struggles.

What's to stop Chris Chelios from heading up this new European NHL? Sorry, for some reason your question reminded me of dear old Sirdrake. Where is that goofy bastard?

Dammit, another weekend branded in mediocrity. Seriously, I just can't seem to get things rolling.

Cold War II/Red Wings vs. Leafs Doubleheader !?!?!
NeverForgetMac25 replied to schulzte's topic in General
That, and the fact that there was an ocean separating us and the Soviet Union. Actually, I would love to see this. I can only make it to Detroit once a year usually and if this came to fruition, it would definitely be the game I'd make the trip for. I've always wanted to see a Wings/Leafs game, and the fact that it would be with 5-times as many fans would be icing on the cake. -
Even though I appreciated your joke, you still can't say the forbidden word on game day until its proven true or false.

Now my sights are set! I was hovering around that 11-12 spot for the last few weeks, but now its time to make a real move.
-
Why is that strange? *confused* From what I saw Gerber played a solid game and was very deserving of the 3rd star. When it all comes down to it he essentially played the entire game (54:27).

While I think Legace is a decent goalie, he seriously makes a schizophrenic look completely single-minded. He's even weird, for a goalie. Edit: (Tori) Spelling

On a Sidenote in last nights 6-0 route, its not very often that a goalie that plays only 5:24 of a game gets awarded the win. Lucky Emery.

Holland to start talks with Ozzie for a multi year extension
NeverForgetMac25 replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
I have a feeling they might bring up Howard, atleast to start the year with Ozzie. I don't believe he's anywhere near out of call-ups. Give Ozzie 50+ nods next year, and let Howard start 30 or so. That should give him plenty of opportunity to get in the mix, while not having too much pressure (especially if Ozzie signs a 3 year extension). Howard can come into his own at his own pace, and without much worry as long as Osgood can continue the level of play he's shown the past few years. Then in a couple years they can start splitting on a more equal basis (given that Howard has earned those extra starts) and you've got a beyond proven guy in Ozzie to hand over the reigns as his career winds down. Textbook situation. -
Holland to start talks with Ozzie for a multi year extension
NeverForgetMac25 replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
Just because its a 37% raise it doesn't mean its a fair deal. With the increased role Ozzie has played this season, the current market value for a goaltender with his numbers, and the fact hat he'll be expected to play around 50+ games next season, its isn't a fair deal. Besides, the lower the salary the lower 37% is. I.E. If a goaltender was making $4 million and got a 37% ($1,480,000) increase it would be a hell of a lot more meaningful than a $300,000 raise. -
Holland to start talks with Ozzie for a multi year extension
NeverForgetMac25 replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
I know he's by no means young, but $1.1 per for 3 years is kind of a kick in the balls. I know Ozzie is very much a team player who loves playing for the Wings more than anything, but with the way he's played since the last two months of last years regular season through right now, it wouldn't be a fair deal to offer him $1.1 per for 3 years. I know he'll take a home town discount (and probably more than he should), but I can see him signing for somewhere in the ballpark of 3 years/$1.75 million per. I would ink that deal if I were Kenny. -
I agree with those that are stating that right now its a fair deal, with the potential to be a steal down the road. Right now, I expect a $6.7 million a year player to be producing the way Dats is. If Dats can continue this pace over the next 6 seasons the deal will get better. If he's able to up his production and continue to develop his physical game, it will be an absolute steal.
