I'm sure he doesn't, but why should Ozzie be shelved for an entire week when he's playing as solid as he is? I'm not worried about Dom getting his game "back". I know the talent he has and I know he'll get things rocking again very soon, so why shouldn't he split starts with Ozzie?

Because of the risk of Ozzie cooling off. That's enough of a reason for me. Dom is a seasoned veteran, and playing every other game right now should be plenty of opportunity to get back into a rhythm without shelving Ozzie and risking him getting cold. Sidenote: Why do we "need" to get Hasek going right now? If this was 3 months from now, I would completely agree with you, but right now the team is playing great, and every other start for Dom should be plenty of opportunity to get in a rhythm.

Awesome!

Based on what? The fact that he won a game that his team dominated from start to finish. I'm not discrediting Dom because the guy played great when he had to against Montreal, but Ozzie has put himself in a position to at absolute least split time for the job. Dom had a great game on Tuesday, and thus should be starting on Sunday. When Ozzie is playing as great as he is, like Babs said two weeks ago when Dom was getting back into it and he was still giving Ozzie the majority of the starts, why wouldn't he play a guy thats as hot as Ozzie is? Dom's a big boy and I'm sure he would've done just fine on Sunday, but there's no reason to shelve Ozzie for an entire week just because Dom played solid in one game. IMO it should go like this: 12/7 vs. Wild - Osgood 12/9 vs. Hurricanes - Hasek 12/10 vs. Predators - Osgood I'd hold off on making comments like these. I don't feel Dom showed much of any signs of age last season during the playoffs, and thats the only sample we can use for what his play might be come April. Right now, I'm totally with you in regards to Ozzie being way more trustworthy in net....but I'm not going to speculate how Dom would play in the playoffs given that its 4.5 months away and a lot could happen in that time. Osgood in net for Phoenix; Hasek in net for Montreal

Many have stated the Hasek is a slow starter, and during some seasonss he has been notorious for that. However, I don't care what the excuse is........he needs to play better if he wants to be the starting goalie on this team seeing as that right now Ozzie is playing like he not only deserves it more than Hasek, but anyone else in the league. You won't get any argument from me regarding Hasek's play so far this season. You may be taking this inquiry out of context though. Of course Ozzie *can* win a cup. He has done it already in his career. What people are questioning is whether or not he can do it now? My response to that doesn't have anything to do with what he's done in the past, nor does it hold any bearing on current play. It's really stupid to me that people can question whether Ozzie has what it takes to win a cup now, and not Hasek. They both have won a Cup (both with the Red Wings even), yet people find ridiculous arguments for why one might or might not be able to win it all this year. It's ludicrous because no matter what argument people come up with, its still unproven and will only receive past accomplishments as responses. Long story short, I'm with those that feel *as long as Ozzie can keep up his play*, he should not only be given the majority of starts, but should be the starting goaltender come playoff time.. However, just like the Oz loyalists who complained about PT the last two seasons have said, Hasek still needs to get his nods in the event that Oz doesn't keep up the stellar play he's shown all season. It's as simple as that. -

Of course you can still feel that Ozzie should be the starting goalie right now, and I couldn't agree more with the bolded statement. The point of my post is that a good amount of loyalists of either goalie follow common trends on LGW. When goalie "A" is playing great, they say things like "See, I told he's great" or "He's the better goalie based on his play right now", while the loyalists of goalie "B" (who isn't doing so great at the time) refer to the past and what they've accomplished. I sure as hell hope Ozzie doesn't slow down, but God forbid he does, and Hasek gets on a hot streak and all we'll hear about on this site is how great Ozzie was in the beginning of the season, his past accomplishments and how unfair Babs is being about the goaltending situation. My signature picture says it all. -
The most daring title I've ever read from The Onion was: "T-Ball stand pitches no-hitter at special olympics game." That's pretty bold even for The Onion.

Since when did Favre say he was retiring after this year? If the Packers don't win the Superbowl, I'd be very willing to bet he'll be back.

Let me give y ou a piece of advice.......trade for Samuelsson *right now*! Game Over....you're the Fantasy League Champ!

I've been holding him all season. When he does return, it should be a solid boost. Sidenote: He's still a tool for doing this.

Anyone notice that both camps are plenty guilty of living in the past? Just because Ozzie is having a great season, if he does happen to slow down the Ozzie loyalists will be pointing back to this start as well as the 98 campaign rather than the present. Just like Hasek loyalists are doing right now. Again, this is coming from a guy that feels Ozzie should be starting the majority of the games right now, but once again, I defer to the passage in my signature. -
QFT It worked, but that's something where you may want to back off a little bit and wait for help (especially with the play heading toward the corner).
-
Only Samuelsson would throw a high wrister on goal while practically on the goal line with 3 players all directly in front of the goalie. I'm sure that puck stands a great shot of sneaking its way through. Oh Sammy.......when will you learn.

Hmm......strange........but we'll take it.

That time it worked!

Solid 1st period. Great PK, solid PP, great pressure and a 1-0 lead.

DATS!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! How do we go offsides on a penalty kill? That'll make Babs happy. :nonono:
-
Hasek looks very sharp thus far.

PK over Remains 0-0 Solid kill, but MTL did break through a little too much.
