Dats has been all over the ice tonight. Probably the most noticable Wing out there thus far (Well him or Lids).

    11/21 GDT: Red Wings 3, Blues 0

The refs just missed a blatant trip in front of Ozzie on Lidstrom. That'll happen when the pp's are 5-1 in favor of Detroit.

QFT, especially the part about "deservedly so", but you knew it wouldn't last much longer.

Sammy buries on on the PP! Quick fake and then let it fly. Redirected in.

D*mn, if Homer had been able to corale that puck it would have been 2-0. He had Legace beat on the deke. ..........and Z off the post. End of 1 1-0 Red Wings

Great shift by Dats. Good dump and follow, and a great stick lift to steal the puck. Then he draws a PP. Not even funny. I told my wife I'd rather have every single game than any amount of refund. So far this year in refunds, Time Warner has given me $96.00 on one occasion and $25 on another. After its all said and done, Center Ice will cost me only $29.00 this season. Not too shabby, but I'd rather have all the games. That being said, Center Ice was all fixed up Monday night.

Hey Everyone, I haven't posted in the GDT lately and thought I'd do so tonight. Gorgeous play all around on the Z goal, and I loved when they spelled Rafalski's first name as "Brain".

    2007 Green Bay Packers Thread

The attached quotes from the article you linked basically sum up my thoughts. I can understand why some people would be upset, but had the players known what they were doing was against the rules, they probably wouldn't have even done it. The sad thing is I'm sure there are plenty of other instances like this that go on, but this one just happened to be the one that was reported. On top of that, I hate that the media uses the word "bounty". It almost makes it sound like the Packers were head-hunting, which they certainly were not. Yes, its against the rules but it was just a little locker room fun meant with no ill-will other than the desire to shut a player/team down within the normal rules (not to intentionally hurt anyone) of the game. Sidenote: I also bolded my favorite quotes.

The Official: 2007 Detroit Lions Season Thread

I can understand that reasoning, but statistically the Packers are a better Rushing Defense than the Cardinals or the Giants. Obviously it makes sense to stick with a balanced rushing game to help your big guns (Johnson and Williams) do their thing, but if I were the Lions, I would attack Harris like crazy, throw short dumps to Campbell or get play action going with Fitzsimmons leading the way. Here's my reasoning: While Woodsen and Harris are considered one of the top CB tandem's in the league, I feel Harris definitely the weaker of the two. Couple that with the talent of the Lions receiving core and you can expect to see atleast a few big plays and a couple pass interference's. With Campbell, those short dumps to the outside will prove to be efficient in the form of 4-6 yard gains. Now, if you want to rush the ball, the best thing you can do is run play-action pass to get things rolling. The Packers have an extremely balanced Defense from top to bottom, and the best to way to get the Lions struggling rush game going would be to get the linebackers on their heels. This isn't meant a shot by any means, but not many teams in the NFL are going to respect the Lions rushing game right now, and running play-action pass to Jones/Duckett will force the Packers linebackers on their heels (due to being froze, and then dropping back before a short dump by Kitna). Then ultimately, the running game should open up a little bit, along with the passing game. Obviously I want the Packers to destroy the Lions, but if the Lions are to win those are my keys to the game. If these things happen the Lions have a great shot at the game, given that they don't give up 20+ points to the Packers offense.

    Dom Bashers Welcome!

Oh! So now Osgood is Goalie "A" and Hasek is Goalie "B"! Why the hell couldn't you use Hasek as Goalie "A" and Ozzie as Goalie "B" in your scenario? WTF's your problem Harold, you Hasek Hater! True, but who's to say he would've played his St. Louis and Hawks game against the Jackets. FYI: For those of you who think I'm supporting Hasek, don't even bother with a response. *Right now* I feel Ozzie should be starting a little more than a 50/50 rotation.

    yzerman retirement

Youtube has something like a 10 minute maximum per clip. Even with that, the ceremony isn't broken down into 6 or so parts on Youtube.

    Weekend Picks

How do you figure? - NYI beat NJ (I picked this one) - Atlanta beat Carolina (There's one upset given that both teams had a similar last 10, the depth of Carolina opposed to Atlanta and the fact Carolina was the home team) - Buffalo beat Montreal (Montreal has been much better than Buffalo to start the season and recently as well) - Tampa beat Washington (I picked this one) - St. Louis beat Columbus (Toss Up) - Dallas beat Colorado (Colorado has been playing great while Dallas has been subpar) - Vancouver beat Minnesota (I picked this one) So, IMO my 3/7 is more than justified given the upsets.

    Ducks acquire Sutherby from Caps

I thought they did that in order to make a play for Mowers.

    NFC Rank 'em

Arizona at 7? Really? Until they can find a way to beat the bad teams I have a hard time ranking them that high. Then again, maybe that's the reason you did rank them at 7 (the fact that their wins came against tougher teams). I.E. Pittsburgh, Seattle

    Dom Bashers Welcome!

Dave, do you have a case of the Mondays? Hasek's confidence level is definitely off compared to his play last season, but its hard to say what he would've done given that he got the nod last night. The point is that Hasek is a wily veteran that is known to get off to slow starts to the season. That being said, we are a quarter of the way in and he does need to step up sooner rather than later. If we're still having this conversation in January it wouldn't be the worst idea to run with Ozzie. However, I still think its too early to give up on Hasek.
