Did he get thrown from the game? I noticed when he got in the box he was then told to leave. All it says is that he got a 5 minute major for fighting. Why did he get pulled from the box? There was plenty of time left in the period.

From what I understand the Lions don't exactly have the strongest O-Line in the league. Whether or not you think the Giants are a solid team its hard to argue that their D-Line isn't well above average, especially their ends. Pinning Umenyiora and Strahan up against a mediocre line doesn't usually equate to a lot of success. I'm not knocking the Lions by any means, just giving probable cause for the sack total yesterday.

I have nothing against anyone else that's in this as well, but I always look for you and Aussie_Wing's score on Monday morning.

This NHL.com gamecast is by no means great, but atleast its keeping me up to the second on the plays as they're happening. That and LGW and NHL.com Radio. -

I tried. It states that there is a "file opening error". -

NHL Center Ice isn't even working in Green Bay right now. I missed last nights game, and by the sounds of it (even if it was working) NHL Network is pulling the game. I called Time Warner last night, and they said they weren't sure why Center Ice or the NBA package weren't working. They gave me another $25 credit, but once again, NFM gets f*cked. -
My tickets arrived yesterday. This is the first away game (Game 2 of the regular season) for Detroit. I was wondering who else is going to this game since there are a good handful or two that are in the same living situation as I am (closer to the United Center or Excel Energy Center than that of the Joe). Who going? Dave, will you be there?

It wasn't like Melrose was the only one to pick Anaheim as the Cup favorites last year. It was pretty widely preached.

That rule doesn't bother me as much as it used to, because players have adapted to it. It's become so much more few and far between. That being said, I can definitely see the argument for your proposed rule.

Bertuzzi's concussion worse than initially suspected

Perhaps, but even the more injury prone players can be unpredictable. You just never know. -

Not that Holland is wishing injury upon anyone, but he's gotta be smiling knowing that $4 million of the Wings cap isn't vested in a guy that probably won't play half the season. -
Great to hear that everyone's ok though.

Are you going to stand by those statements if the Lions don't come out with the win this Sunday?

I would laugh so hard at the league if Luongo lived up to his promise given that larger nets comes to fruition.

Really? The Packers were lucky to play them in Week 2 when things weren't going their way. GB destroyed them in New York 35-13, but since that game they won their next 6 matchups. They just lost to Dallas, but the Cowboys are probably the best team in the conference. Even though the Packers have already beat the Giants I wouldn't be 100% confident if they played them again. With that, I don't understand how Lions fans can feel that way.

Nice GDT, but does anyone know whats been up with aflac?

I'm not really curious to see how *Favre* does against the Lions. I think he'll do just fine and put up a good amount of points. What I'm curious to see is how well our defense does against the Lions offense. If Woodsen and Harris shut down the very talented Lions passing game I don't see how the Lions could win the game. The Packers defensive line is too strong for any team to rely solely on running the ball. If the Lions are able to open up the passing game, than its anyone's ball game (especially the Lions given the circumstances: Home Team, Thanksgiving). Sidenote: Brett Favre is a God!

I saw the game as well and was in utter shock. 5 goals in 5:07 when your opponent has a 4 goal lead with less than 8 minutes to play is just plain out of this world. Dallas should be beyond embarrassed. Unbelievable.

11/11 GDT: Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2
NeverForgetMac25 replied to russianswede919293's topic in General
Do you mean this season, because Khabi has sucked or been mediocore at best against the Wings ever since he joined the Hawks. Two seasons ago he was chased in 3 straight games against Detroit. Last season the Wings took 15 of a possible 16 points against Chicago (with Khabi starting 6 of the 8 games. He had a stellar final *full* game against the Wings last season stopping 56 of 58 shots in one game, but other than that and depending on what you consider playing well against us, I would beg to differ as to Khabi always playing well against us. -
2007 College Football Season Talk
NeverForgetMac25 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in Other Sports
If you're referring to the outcome of the Big 10 than that's one thing, but (and I mean this with no ill-will) I hate this sentiment. This isn't like the Bears losing to the Packers in Week 17 last season when they had the conference clinched. I understand that this game was meaningless in regards to the outcome of the Big 10, but no athlete or coach in their right mind thinks this way heading in to a game. Just because a particular game doesn't make or break the outcomes of a season doesn't mean that the team doesn't care about it and wasn't trying to win. Michigan is a better team than Wisconsin, but UW was the better team on Saturday. Simple as that. -
The thing is, I'm not racist, so when teams mascots show off spirit I don't think about it in a negative context. If some people find that offensive, that's one thing. However then it should be across the board (I.E. Vikings, Trojans, etc.).
