Maybe I'm an idiot? What the hell does he mean by "burp it"? Or is it that this is just the dumbest quote in the world?

Zetterberg says he wants to spend his whole career in Detroit

How can anyone not love this guy? -
That's incredible! I haven't joined in many of the GDT's lately as my bride has been using the computer during the recent Wings games. When she isn't using it I usually post, otherwise I just sit back and enjoy the game without the GDT.

I would completely agree. Aside from Filppula and Kindl, I would be inclined to think it would take 2 first rounders or a first and second due to Detroit always drafting so late every season. Also, I agree that Kronwall is too much of a question mark as compared to his contract for them to take on.

Movin' on up and 4 away from the lead! I'm coming for ya Aussie!

NHL Network 'very close' to launching in America.
NeverForgetMac25 replied to erok's topic in General
I just don't get it. :nonono: I have Time Warner in Green Bay and I've always had Versus/OLN. However, I don't get the NHL Network. I was watching Center Ice last night and noticed the last game wasn't on due to it being on NHL Network. I need to call Time Warner because if I miss one Wings game due to this I'm going to be uber-pissed. -
Does anyone actually know whether or not Downey will be activated tonight?

Would you mind telling that to Osgood then? This is in no way a knock on Dom, but Ozzie plays for the same team and gets the same benefit/tough luck of facing such few shots per game. So far Dom has 155 shots against in 7 games with a 0.877 SV% (and a 4-2-1 record), while Ozzie has faced 130 shots in 6 games with a 0.931 SV% (and a 6-0-0 record). Of course trends show that things will balance out as the season moves along, but currently Ozzie isn't falling into that group your describing. The point of the thread is to discuss who is most deserving to go to the all-star game *right now* given the current season. There is no doubt Ozzie is more deserving.

Twice? Which play are you referring to? He exposed him on the OT winner, but the first biggie was against Champ Bailey.

Not even in the same ballpark. Sirdrake is a LGW Member.

Maybe eliminate was the wrong word..........more like monitor. Holland and Co. aren't going to sign Forsberg without a physical, some evaluation of his *current* mobility on skates, and without the proper terms in place. That's what I meant. My point exactly.
-
Saying "given he can prove he's healthy" is not taking his health for granted. I'm flat out saying its the concern. If he can eliminate that concern and the terms are right, there's no reason not to sign him. Given the right terms, it wouldn't be that huge of a gamble.
-
Who do you suggest?
-
Ok, the animosity thing is the main reason I feel the majority of the board is using as reason to not sign Forsberg. However, considering that the rivalry died a long time ago, I don't feel its still an issue. Of course it'll sting a little at first seeing him don the Winged Wheel, but it'll be no different than when Cheli came to Detroit. The rivalry had died well before that trade, and the DET/COL rivalry was in full force at that point. Now, I think its the same thing with Forsberg. Edit: Grammar

Wow Just because I don't agree with everyone on this site doesn't mean I'm talking down to them. Sorry I don't happen to agree with a lot of your views, but it sure as hell doesn't mean I'm talking down to you nor others. The majority of this board knows that. Sidenote: I'm still awaiting a resposne from anyone as to concrete reasoning on why Forsberg shouldn't be on the Wings given that he can prove he's healthy. Stick around, you may "get" your wish.
-
Yeah, pretty ridiculous for me to actually want to have a conversation about a legitimate player coming to the Wings rather than poke 3rd grade insults at him. Is this better? I HATEZ THE FORSKIN! HE SUCKZZ! Sidenote: It wasn't a knock on you, but the people that say "no" to a player like Forsberg without any reasoning. Ease up.
-
- good stuff! Yeah........definitely concrete reasoning why Forsberg shouldn't be playing for the Wings.
-
That was according to a Sportsnet.ca writer. Consider the fact that it was a Canadien Source.
-
Sundin or Doan.........yeah, that should cost the Wings practically nothing in draft picks or prospects. Good thing in the new NHL those things aren't important. [/sarcasm] Again, the Wings *can't* continue to throw away these vital parts of the future. I don't get how people struggle to understand that these aren't the free-wheeling days of 5 years ago.
-
If Forsberg can prove he's healthy I'd like to hear one actual reason why the Wings shouldn't sign him. He's exactly what this team needs right now, and would cost the Wings no prospects or picks. If the price and terms are in line, there's no reason the Wings shouldn't go after him.

Trust, a good portion of the Blackhawk fans aren't any better. I go to the majority of the 4 Wings/Hawks game at the United Center every year. Most of them make just as sh*tty of comments as St. Louis fans did. One time one of their fans screamed we'd be better off with Fischer on the ice. Not much better if you ask me considering Fisch almost died on the ice roughly a month before that game was played. This isn't the half of what I've all heard from their fans. BTW, there are three former Wings on the current Blackhawks squad (Lang, Williams and Lapointe). Edit: Grammar

Way to go, you just completely jinxed it. You know better than to say the forbidden word on gameday until it happens or its proven to be untrue. At any rate, the Wings need to come out firing in this one. This team is banged up and nowhere near where they were a couple years ago. If the Wings start off strong, it will open the game up for some solid PT for the kids, which is invaluable.

I totally hear what your're saying, but its not as if Z has sacrificed his defensive game whatsoever with the points he's racking up. He's still defensively responsible first, and offensively potent second. It's just that right now he's tearing up the league in both. Edit: Grammar

The Lions scare the sh*t out of me on Thanksgiving whether they're 5-2 or 2-5. I don't know if its because the game is nationally televised or something else, but no matter how good or bad they are they put up one hell of a fight on Turkey Day. Every single Thanksgiving I watch them play and its as if they're playing like its the Superbowl. Couple that with a team that has seemingly turned things around, and it will be a great battle (and an important one to boot). GO PACK GO!
