Suprises / dissapointments so far this season...
NeverForgetMac25 replied to interminded's topic in General
Hence the "(thus far in this young season)" comment. I wasn't insinuating anything. Just a quick oberservation. -

Suprises / dissapointments so far this season...
NeverForgetMac25 replied to interminded's topic in General
Of the top 23 scorers in the NHL (thus far in this young season) 4 of them belong to Detroit. 1. Zetterberg 15. Datsyuk 19. Holmstrom 23. Rafalski -
C'mon wingsgirl.....thin excuse. I know the Eastern time zone people have it worse than me (Green Bay, WI = Central Time Zone) but I went to bed at 12:30 last night and got up at 5:45. Monster and Rockstar energy drinks are your friends (and NFM's as well). As I said earlier, I was very impressed with the Wings play as this game progressed. You could tell they were completely outplayed the first 20 minutes, got better in the second period, and dominated the 3rd. Here's hoping they can keep up that type of play with a little better 1st period.

Why people would care about this is beyond me. What Dom "might" have done. What Ozzie "might" have done on Monday. The point is that Ozzie played great tonight, and Dom is still a phenomenal goalie that will lead this team as well. Great situation the Wings have in net right now.

Great character win for the Wings. I love what I saw as this game progessed. Rough first period of getting outworked. Better second period to get back in the game, and a dominant third. I'd like to see every game like that. Good night all.

Red Wings: Lightest, Shortest and Oldest.......Cue the Panic!
-
DATS! Keep you stick on the ice, and it makes the 5-on-3 much easier.
-
Another good penalty to take. Erhoff made the right play, but I wonder if he would have if he had known it was Drapes.
-
Ellis! Who'd of thought?
-
Huge kill. Remains 2-2
-
Great penalty to take if your Lilja. Honestly.

No offense, but your step dad isn't very smart. Z plays a defensively responsible fore-checking game. However, once's he got the puck he's a great possesser with phenomenal vision. You're stepdad view is incorrect.

Things are going to be real chippy this 3rd period. Great puck movement to start the period.
-
Nice.....so less than 7 minutes. Gotta love that.
-
I just caught up to live time of this game (Good old DVR). How long ago did the second period "just" end?
-
I'm seriously not trying to rub this in, but for those of you who thought a couple years ago that the Red Wings tickets were hard to get, check this out. I signed up last week, so I should have my season tickets by 3074! Be The 74,659th In Line!

Have the Lions only recently struggled with attendance? I'm not trying to be rude, but they haven't exactly sparked much fan interest with their play over the past decade until this year? Obviously, I'm out of the loop seeing as that I live in Green Bay and cheer for the Packers, but I was just wondering if someone could shed some light on the situation for non-Michigan residents. Front-loading the contract is a good idea, but I don't see Markov giving that much leeway toward the backend of his contract. Markov has held firm that he looking for a contract that averages $3 milliion + per or he won't sign. I could see your front-loading contract suggestion working out only given that it looks something like this: $3.5M - $3M - $2.5M. Markov might give a little toward the end of his contract due to his age as long as the salary ends up averaging $3M per. Edit: Grammar

has a referee or linesman ever fought a hockey player during a game?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to sirdrake1's topic in General
I'm not so sure just yet. This thread wasn't sirdrake's worst thread, but wasn't one of his best either. I'm going to watch the thread closely and the type of replies it gets will determine whether or not its "Classic" stamp-worthy. Edit: Grammar -

Welcome back sirdrake! You're hockey inquiries have been missed. I don't know.......same sentence structure, lack of any capital letters to start sentences (or names), and threw Cheli into the mix at the end of an asinine question. It's gotta be sirdrake! -
I can appreciate that reasoning. Either way, I'm good. However, I wouldn't mind seeing my lines as well.
-
I like those lines alot, but the one change I would make would be to put Cleary on the second line, and Kopecky on the third. I don't see Kopecky with that much future scoring potential and I don't think he'll clear any more room for guys like Dats. As a result, I'd rather have a guy like Cleary with a little scoring touch to play opposite of Filppula.

Neither do a lot of deadline acquisitions. That's the chance you take.
-
You can start to make a correlation when the bigger of their two deadline acquisitions picked up and left (Tkachuk). Also he didn't just dump picks last year, it was the year before that as well when they finished 2 points out of the playoffs.
