And after he does that, he'll fire the puck into the oppositions high netting twice right at the start of the game. The Wings will go on a 5-on-3 PP at the 19:48 mark of the first period, score a goal, and the Cheli will arch his back over the puck the remaining 59:30. Booyah! Final Score: 1-0 Red Wings -

why do players even bother appealing to the officials?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to sirdrake's topic in General
I'm here. He just posted this thread right after I left work. More gold from sirdrake. Please don't ever stop doing this. Sidenote: :rotflmao: I guess the Wings can start interfering with the opposition now since it won't result in a penalty since they don't have the puck. Can you imagine if Cheli seriously went to arch his back over the puck with 12:53 remaining in the first? Seriously sirdrake, I don't know how you come up with this stuff, but please never stop. Alright, I'll stamp this thread as a classic as well. -
For Selanne, his deadline is December 1st due to being a UFA. Niedermayer is still under contract and has been suspended by the team for not reporting. He can come back whenever and at a deferred cost to help the Ducks cap situation.

Should Pavel and Hank stay on the same line?

My point exactly. -

In all reality, the Wings may not desperately need another sniper such as Forsberg until February, but the point again is that he's an FA and will cost the Wings nothing as far as draft picks/players goes. Bringing back #91 *will* cost draft picks or players. In the new NHL as most of us know, you can't just give up draft picks left and right the way the Wings did pre-lockout. -
Glad to hear Dom's feeling fine, and hopefully Bab's will continue with a solid rotation to keep Dom as healthy as possible.

I'm getting pretty antsy for sirdrake's Thread-of-the-Day. C'mon SD, where's the randomness?
-
Correct That doesn't change the fact that its a huge loophole in comparison to a player such as Niedermayer. It should be addressed given the magnitude of the loophole.
-
Agreed What's to stop more teams from doing things like this in the future? This better be something the BOG looks at this offseason, because IMO its a scam.

Hey, that was a copyrighted NFM#25 statement! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- QFT This is why I've been saying signing a guy like Forsberg would be just what the Wings need. If you put guys like Franzen and Hudler ono either side of him, that line would bang out some points, and it would bring some balance to the top two lines. The drop between the D-Z-H line and the second line is well beyond what the normal talent drop off is in the NHL. Don't get me wrong, I was as sick as anyone with the thought of Forsberg coming to the Wings, but right now he could be had for a reduced salary, but more importantly without giving up any draft pick/player compensation. Couple that with a solid UFA at the deadline and all of a sudden our offense looks pretty d*mn scary. -
I don't know why, but I found that really funny. On top of that, he gave Drapes a little bag-tag last year while Draper was waiting to go back on the ice for the three stars presentation. Caught by cameras, gotta love that.
-
It was a solid tilt. For those that haven't seen it: Hordichuk vs. King
-
Did you mean "should" or "shouldn't"?
-
Good luck with that. Drapes will probably get somewhere in the ball park of $1.25 - $1.6 million over the course of a three year contract. If the Wings got him for $1 mil, it would be a steal......meaning it won't happen.

Nice sense of humor OsGod! Well, the Wings did start 0-1 last season.
