It's sad.........solid play for 4 months at the most crucial time of the season isn't enough to credit a player, but one mistake seems to be enough to condemn one. That play wouldn't have even happened if that game had been closed out in regulation like it should've been. Sidenote: If Dom had stopped Selanne, 95% of the members on this board wouldn't remember that play.

To top it off NN, the real ironic part is that Lilja stepped up his game big time right around the time he got in that fight. Rather than people actually seeing the Lilja was playing good, it was all Pain-Train this and Pain-Train that. But sure enough, one mistake in the playoffs, and he was getting ripped the same way he was a year ago today.

Yeah, Downey on the 4th line......that's definitely going to make or break a win tonight.

First and foremost, Timothy I'll get back to you on my list of ranking QB's. I've meant to get that out this entire week, but things have come up. Anyway, just wanted to throw another shout out to Brett Favre. This guy is unbelievable. He'll be 38 very shortly, and is playing ball like he was when he was in his 20's. The only difference is, he's even smarter with the ball, and taking away all those mental mistakes. In his last three games he has 8 TD's, 1 INT, 999 Passing Yards and a 110.23 QB rating. This guy never ceases to amaze me. Keep it going Brett.....let's make it 5-0!

The Wings organization is not going to waive Sammy and eat part of his salary. He could be used in a deal toward the deadline, but in all reality, what could we really get for Sammy? Not much. I'm all for waiting two months to get Floppa considering the salary reduction as a result, but the Wings *can't* just make deadline acquistions like they're going out of style. This isn't the pre-salary cap days anymore, and the Wings can't afford (not financially) to be giving up tons of draft picks and young talent simply for a rental player or two. Do the Wings have $5 million to spend: Yes. Would it be wise to spend it all at the deadline: No. From a back end, FA's have become even more important to the salary cap NHL.

Not so much. Sidenote: Has anyone heard the announcer for the Avalanche (Altitude Network) say "Lehtinen". Its really obnoxious how much he tries to pronounce his name as grammatically correct as possible. LET-AH-NEN! LET-AH-NEN!

Cheers The Wings added Bert and Calder, and that didn't do a thing. From what I recall, the Wings didn't sell out a single home game during the 07 playoffs. How is this years trade deadline going to be any different than last years?
