Rafalski signed a 5 year deal, and that keeps him in the Winged Wheel through the 2011-12 season.

NHL Network 'very close' to launching in America.

Chances that Eklund reported the same thing last season at this time: e5 -
To me its not so much about putting up goals, but rather if you are a puck-moving mobile defensemen vs. the stay-at-home variety.
-
Not to be a downer, but I'd take anyone's bet that feels Chelios will score more than 5 goals. He's a stay-at-home D-man on a team full of puck-moving defensemen. Here's hoping I'm wrong, but with Lids, Rafalski, Kronwall and Lebda shooting, I have a feeling he'll continue to be a stay-home guy like Lilja.

I'm not even asking their running game to come to par with the offensive standards, just be somewhat respectable. 75 yards per game is not par, but no Packers runner to date has managed to hit that number. Hell, the most rushing yards per game (team-wide) the Packers have had in 3 weeks is 83. That's a double bogey if you ask NFM.

Was that the Thanksgiving game 3 years ago? If it was, that one still stings a little. The Pack should've pulled that one out, but the Lions play so d*mn well on Thanksgiving. No matter how good or bad they are or who they're playing, you can bank on it. Nevermind, I just checked, and it was 4 seasons ago (2003 season).

Do you think ESPN reads LGW.com? ________________________________________________________________________ Before you even respond, I really don't care what ESPN does. I only watch that network for Football. Other than that, ESPN's programming doesn't interest me at all. Besides, the NHL is listed 4th on their homepage. Wouldn't that be more important to you than a drop-down menu on another sports' section?

Oklahoma State football coach blows up at press conference

Very True........especially when it comes to Miller. -
Seriously, what can I say about this team? I feel as dumbfounded as LT was at the post game conference (but in a good way ). Before I get into it, I'd like to give a mad for Brett on tying Marino's record. Way to go "Dinosaur". I never in my wildest dreams thought the Packers would be 3-0 at this point, and to top it off, all of their wins have come against playoff teams from last year. This was the first week our defense didn't look particularly strong throughout the entire game, but thats expected against an offense like San Diego's. However, they made the stops when they needed to, and that's the most important thing. For the second week in a row our offense looked strong. The only difference was that this week it was against a solid Defense. San Diego is ranked near the top of the league in that department, and Brett carved them up. 369 yards, 3 Touchdowns, and 0 Interceptions. That's how you beat a team as good as SD. This team is hungry, and they look extremely strong. Once again, if they can get their run game going as well, this team can challenge anyone in the NFC.

Easy there sport? I'm not getting worked up, but how could anyone understand that you actually like the Packers unis, but you were just ripping them because they were a divisional rival based on your post? I completely agree. The Lions have a great Logo/unis. Classic, same as the Packers.

Agreed

You mean Coors Light. -
If you honestly believe the Packers jerseys are the worst in all of professional sports, I question your sanity. Trust me, the majority of the population (excluding Packers and Lions fans) would state that the Packers unis are better than the Lions. Just like the Red Wings, the Packers unis are classic!

New NHL schedule format for 2008-2009 season

I hear what you're saying, but there are other teams besides Jersey with that advantage. Also, this argument was based on the Leafs, and the point is that they are still more East then Detroit. Simple as that. Even still NN, it doesn't change my point of Detroit being farther West than Columbus or Toronto. That was the basis of this argument. -
Yes, you're referring to the game in Dallas. The Wings were down 1-0 with less than 10 minutes in the third. Z went coast to coast and made it look like he was going to pull a wrap around, but at the last second did a between the legs backward pass (that went between the defenders legs as well), and Dats fired it into the wide open net. Before Smith knew what happened the game was tied 1-1. Sidenote: Z scored the next goal, by getting three players to go down on a fake shot, then held the puck a split second before firing a shot short-side top shelf to put the Wings in front 2-1. He would end up by adding an assist on the final empty net goal (Schneider) that put the Wings up 3-1.

As do I. Actually, I had that feeling well before training camp even began. Here's hoping he puts forth the effort though, because the Wings could use a natural scorer up front to compliment the few that they have. If Grigs doesn't put forth the effort, he'll just irritate me all season. -
I love this semi-annual thread. It's just keeps popping up.

That's a nice "Panic" button you got there! It may rival mine, although the one I have does have the "Shiny" factor going for it. ...........Unfortunately mine needs one of those plastic covers. Excuse me while I head to Photoshop.

Please explain to me how the Wings are getting the shaft by being in the Western Conference. Don't bother with the location argument because Detroit is not the most eastern team in the Western Conference. Sidenote: If any team should be moved to the Western Conference (based solely on Geography) Atlanta would be moved before Toronto. Edit: Picture Addition -

As do I, and a Home & Home against every NHL team would be phenomenal (but I know thats just wishful thinking on my part, and won't happen). -
That's not the problem with hockey. The problem is with interest. I.E. I love hockey and the Red Wings. I watch every single Wings game and pretty much every other game I can on Center Ice. Now, I like Baseball. I watch roughly 95% of Brewers games, but I don't watch other teams, because I'm not as interested in Baseball as I am with Hockey. At this point of the year, I'll flip between the Cubs game and something else that is on simply because the divisional race is so tight, but I'm not going to watch as many MLB games as I can, because it doesn't interest me the way hockey does. Simple as that. It all boils down to what your passion is. Edit: Grammar

Why listen to it when you can watch it? http://www.nhl.tv/team/console

Even before I opened it up, I knew it was going to be written by Larry Wigge. If its a pro-Red Wings article and its on NHL.com, you can bank on the fact that Larry wrote. You know he's a Red Wing fan!

No offense, but its kind of ironic that you mention the fans of Detroit suffering because they aren't in the Eastern conference, yet you disregard the Leafs fans in your proposal. I don't like the Leafs either, but that's a pretty hypocritical statement.
