No big change, so I'm extremely happy.

Most of them do. Its the teams chance to essentially get the player for a bargain. No GM likes doing it, but they all do if need be in order to keep costs down. It's even more important now with the cap. The Salo incident is one of many where the player has left the hearing feeling like sh*t and that they're worthless.

Yeah, because last I checked the fans of Green Bay are really calling for him to retire. :looney: Sidenote: The response to Kp-Wings applies to you as well. It's pretty ignorant to state that Favre is useless, and to call him a dinosaur doesn't even make sense given that he's 37. FYI, the wonder that is Kitna will be 35 this year. The guy just comes off as being old because he hasn't missed a start since he started with the Packers in 1992. Is Favre as good as he was 5-10 years ago, of course not. Is Favre still better than half the quarterbacks in the league? Of course he is. Making comments like he's useless at this point is the same garbage Vikings fans throw out all the time, and the reason they do it is because Favre continues to come to their home (especially the Lions) and beat them. Do you honestly believe any of the three starting QB's in the NFC North at this point are anywhere near Favre's calibre? Now that being said, Green Bay isn't a contender this year, but to put some of that on Favre is stupid. Aside from Driver, name any offensive weapons on this team. Jennings isn't there just yet, we have a banged up mediocore running back coupled with a rookie, and our TE's are among the most embarrassing in the league. Pretty hard to blame Favre for the offensive slump these past few seasons. Keep in mind in 2004 when they had Walker and Driver, along with a healthy Green, Favre had 30 TD's, a 92.4 QB rating and 4088 yards. WIth the subtraction of key players comes the drop off in production, but keep in mind that he had 3,885 yards last year with only one real weapon to throw to. If he had the talent that the Lions had at the WR position he would put up monstrous numbers. I could go on forever. Sidenote: Do you even realize how many records he's going to break this year?

To me, it seems as though arbitrators are all over the board. I remember last year some of the ridiculously high amounts that were awarded, and now we hear about what most consider a "low-ball" award to Cammalleri. IMO, it just depends on who the arbitrator is and who the player is. As I already mentioned, its pretty much all over the board.

Looks like will have to, because I don't see this as the solution that will put the Wings over the top. Simple as that. Also, I agree that this whole topic is like beating a dead horse. Nice animated gif.

I would be willing to bet the Kings will look to extend his contract before other teams get a crack at him. Its too late.
-
In two years, when his RFA status is up, he can sign with anyone or re-sign with LA as soon as July 1st, 2008.
-
If the team accepts the arbitration award, its over. He must sign with the Kings for the awarded amount. This is why professional sports leagues have RFA status'.

Yzerman as Leafs GM if Bowman becomes president

Wow are we bored this offseason. -
Hey! This is a family-friendly site!

And once again, I completely disagree. A guy like Asham isn't going to give the Wings the changes you seem to think he will. We need size and skill throughout the lineup, not a big fighter who'll supposedly convert all our softer, small guys to play with a chip on their shoulder. It isn't that simple, and if it was, Norton would be considered a god right now.
-
Nor is an enforcer changing this team overnight going to happen either. Also, what are you arguing? By pointing out guys like Shanny and DMac when they were in their primes, you just further proved what I'm saying.
-
No, its not an answer to the problem. I'm sorry, but an enforcer on the Wings isn't the direction the Wings should go. Team toughness as a whole is what needs to continue to be focused on. It's as simple as that.
-
312 is great, and Honkers Ale on tap is next to godly.
-
Adding one enforcer to the Wings is not going to be the missing piece that brings the cup back to Detroit. True, it may help the rest of the team play a little more gritty, but that's not the solution. Yet, no team Laraque or Probert has played for has won a cup with them in the lineup.

Almost every Goose Island product is phenomenal, and Dos Equis is great as well. The others were brought in so no matter what taste buds our guests had, they were satisfied.
-
Correct, but we had quite the selection. Goose Island - Honkers Ale, 312, IPA and Summertime Rolling Rock Hinterland Leine's Sunset Wheat and Creamy Dark Dos Equis Budweiser Bud Light Coors Light SIdenote: We went through 10 cases.

Here's a new one from the annual Summer Party Shelly and I throw. The party was Saturday, and it was an absolute blast. As most of you know, I'm in the middle, and the other two are pretty much my best friends, whom I lived with in college.
-
IMO, we don't need an enforcer, we need team toughness and size. There's a big difference.

OsGod, I have a serious question for you. I realize people have the rose-colored Z glasses on all the time here at LGW, but why do you feel the need to knock down Z at pretty much every opportunity you get? I've noticed this since the past postseason, and was curious. It seems like the common theme in your posts is that too many LGW'ers rip on a guy like Lang or other "regulars" on the Wings, and to balance it off you rip Z whenever he has an off game. Of course the stars and fan favorites are going to get some free passes from the fans simply because of who they are, but even stars have off nights. It just seems like you take almost every opportunity to knock Z down after one of those such nights. The difference between guys like Z and the "regulars" on the Wings, is that Z is a much better player night-in and night-out. Thus LGW'ers rip on these "regulars" because their play is more often detrimental to the team. Z on the other hand plays at a higher level the majority of the time, and when he all of a sudden has a poor game, it seems like you feel its necessary to compare his play to that of a guy like Sammy's. I just don't get it.

Actually, that map is a phenomenal visual. I'm surprised I haven't seen something like this before. And if you look close, you can see the path the line makes between LA and Dallas isn't dead straight, which allows you to see the Ducks logo.

Rumor: Ducks won't match offer for Penner

Another claim Eklund will use to say "See, I told you I'm right." Not too difficult when you're this close to the deadline. -
Those Stubhub seats as well as the trip package seats are all based on tickets yet to come. They don't have tickets yet, which is what I'm referring to.

No worries, Columbus and Chicago will be all the help the Red Wings need to make the playoffs.
