Holland: Free Agent Shopping is Probably Done
NeverForgetMac25 replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
I'm a little late chiming in here, but to me this is dead on. You can't just expect a guy like Asham to step in and all of a sudden this Wings team won't get pushed around. As ARice said, it starts at the draft and grows in the system. What I will say is that this current Wings team did show that they won't back down from the physical play of the playoffs, and that's a great sign of things to come. Don't forget that even though the 2002 Wings were more talented than the current squad, they weren't as tough in their playoff run as this past years squad. If the Wings can continue the physical play, while having the "correct" gritty players added to their lineup they'll be in great shape. Adding meatheads that can't play for the sake of being "gritty" isn't the solution. Edit: Spelling -
Absolutely not. Dom isn't going anywhere.

Sidenote: I probably should've put quotations around the word "allowed" in my initial post: (I don't see him being "allowed" to take any less than $8.75 million, but realistically it'll probably be $9-$9.25 million per.). I meant to use the word loosely, as in there's nothing the PA could really do about it if Sid signs for $8 million, but it would create friction.

The same time Z's contract is up.
-
It's been a long time coming. Imagine how great it would be if Roddick could beat Roger on his best surface!
-
Djokovic just knocked out Hewitt in 4 sets: 7-6(8) 7-6(2) 4-6 7-6(5) Survives???? That's hardly the word to use. Roddick hasn't dropped a set thus far! Sidenote: He's up next against Gasquet.

Agreed. There can't be too much of a discount even if Crosby wants to keep the team in tact. I don't see him being allowed to take any less than $8.75 million, but realistically it'll probably be $9-$9.25 million per.

I'm beyond late chiming in, but this is a great signing. With the departure of Lang, Bert and Calder, it only means more ice time for Hudler. If he can put up even one-and-a-half times what he did last year with double the ice time, it will be huge.

Great picture turned into a wallpaper:

Honestly, I'm just fine with the Wings picking up a role second liner, and waiting until the deadline to pick up a top foward, and even another depth Dman if Markov doesn't pan out.

We're skipping lines in our posts.

Average $3.4 million per. Ouch for the Devils.
-
Any monetary amount disclosed?
-
Is this per Eklund?
-
I'd like to be the first to welcome DiPietro to the Wings for the next 14 years! Excited to have you Dip!
-
To me, that number is fair for both sides.
-
That would have been a better way of stating it. The reason posters like Crymson are "all over your nuts" is the way you initially come off.

No worries, I haven't forget RWUOMF's personality from the playoffs and the 07 trade deadline.
-
How exactly was it his fault that he lost him to Anaheim? That's my point.
-
They did. Every Friday home game is "Retro Friday". The team wears those unis. Check out MLB Extra Innings or Sportscenter (Ack ESPN ) after their next Friday home game.

BERTUZZI!!!! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I debate with you. Again, Kenny brought Bert to Detroit, and Bert was the one that wanted to move on to Anaheim even though Kenny was still trying to sign him. How is that Kenny's fault?
-
It'll be Samuelsson

Classic!

Did you not get the point of my post? Like it or not, Kenny brought in Markov. Kenny brought in Bert. True, Bert left on his own, but its not like Kenny hasn't started to address size. Sidenote: What does Schneider have anything to do with your arguement?
