Kira, I know you love Dats, but I wouldn't really throw him into the same spot as someone like Cheli. Dats got one hell of a raise, and while he likes it in Detroit, I doubt he would've stayed had he only been offered $5 million per or less. There's a d*mn good chance Bert will never return to form, and now you have an injury question to go along with it. Letting a questionable power forward with a bad back go for half of what the team has left to spend isn't as dumb as your making it out to be. Here's a newsflash. This Wings team is still incredibly talented, and will make the playoffs. Instead of just throwing money at all these UFA's it wouldn't be the worst idea to save even a little more than what Kenny originally said he would for the deadline. The Wings are probably going to add another solid second line player, and are very capable with the current squad. Relax.

I don't think the Wings should persue anyone on defense at this poiont, and of the offensive list, I'd take Guerin and Kozlov. Perhaps Forsberg, but it still hurts even thinking that. Edit: I was typing too fast, I meant Kozlov, instead of Guerin twice.

Seeing as I wasn't able to check the news until last night, I didn't even bother checking this thread since I knew the Wings added Rafalski in Schneids' place. However, a good portion of this thread reeks of class (sarcasm). Some of you need to grow up. Why is it so wrong of Schneider to leave to be closer to his family, and be on a cup contender that offered him more money? What a prick, huh! Get over it.
