I've always been impressed with Bill McCreary's officiating, which is why I was so surprised by the job he did in Game 3 against Calgary. I've never seen him call as poor of a game as I found that one to be. That being said, everyone is entitled to one bad game here and there, and I would welcome him back for each and every game of the WCF series.

And to add to this, why is it that a good portion of Ducks fans keep claiming that the Sharks were pathetic and didn't bring their "A" game? Could it possibly be because Detroit shut their "A" game down, thus causing them to look pathetic? Can the same be said about Minnesota or Vancouver? Or is that completely out of the realm of possibility?

Smyth for sure, but I don't see the Wings getting him. Bert will be cheaper and the Wings have a better shot of picking him up. I'd prefer Smyth without question though.

What a thread. I just got done reading though it since I posted back on page 2 or 3. Anyway, here's NFM's take on what's been said. First and foremost, I always find it funny when someone thinks the X-Factor to a series is *always* a player on their team. The truth of the matter is that there is generally atleast one X-Factor on both sides (one being the hero and the other being the goat). Guerin and Marleau were definitely X-Factors throughout the last series in the negative sense. A key injury is another version of an X-Factor (See the 2002 St. Louis Blues losing Pronger......not that they had a chance anyway against that Wings team ). Also, I find it hilarious that fans make comments about how their team is just playing so d*mn well, and as a result no one can beat them. The fact of the matter is, both teams must be playing pretty d*mn well or they wouldn't be where they are....which is the WCF's. The truth is both Detroit and Anaheim have won 8 games. Nothing more, nothing less.

Great analysis Matt. I would completely agree with you in regards to the teams I was the most concerned about. What's interesting to me, is all the fears I had (regarding the Wings physicality) throughout the first two rounds has greatly diminished heading into the ANA series. This team is strong enough, and has the heart, desire and skill to be successful in these playoffs. If they play the way the have these past two rounds, they got as good of a shot as anybody to win it all. Consider me a believer too!

Than he definitely wasn't referring to me, because I've had nothing but positive to say about Dom, and I greatly enjoyed torpedoing the new "Lazy and Sucks" thread.

If its a joke, I have no problem with torpedoing a thread! But seriously, I think Dom needs to continue to play the puck to aid with the forecheck, and my points were made without any attacks. That being said, maybe you weren't referring to me directly.
